Hey everyone! Next Tuesday I have my CT Scan to restage my tumours and see if we are able to go ahead with a stem cell transplant to put this ugly lymphoma to bed for good. This is the second go after relapsing in under 4 months.
Please send your prayers and positive thoughts my way over the next week (and beyond) for a positive report, speedy processing so I can get started with the transplant procedure and ultimate success in beating this thing.
Best of luck to you. I relapsed with lymphoma in five months and my Dr. ordered ickier rounds of chemo and that worked. (well for now, and hopefully forever). I have been in remission for 9 months now. Did your Dr. talk about another few months of chemo before a stem cell transplant? Maybe you should ask. Anyway this will do the trick. BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alicia,
If you haven't already done so, please pick up Kris's' latest book, "Crazy Sexy Cancer Survivor". Read it, then re-read it, and then re-read it. The book is fantastic and will help you before and after your scan.

Wow. Thanks everyone. Just some background for you. I was originally diagnosed in May 2007 and did 6 months of chemo followed by 20 radiation treatments. We believed that I had acheived a complete response (no signs of cancer on my PET scan) by just 4 months after treatment, after some "suspicious" blood test results, I had another CT and PET scan and we discovered the cancer had relapsed (in May/June). Since then I have had 2 rounds (in hospital) of high dose chemo and multiple blood and platelet transfusions. This CT scan next Tuesday is to see if the cancer is responding to this high dose chemo. If it is, then it is off to another round of super high dose chemo followed by a stem cell transplant. That is where I am right now. Just waiting.
