Bare Escentuals-bare minerals

Howdy canSer cowgirls. Just wanted to share with you a makeup I have found to be a lifesaver. I started using it a year ago, but really appreciate it now that i have no hair, and massive dark circles with a very BLAH complexion. Bare minerals is sold through their company (bare escentuals) but I get mine at Sephora. I read the labels on the foundation kit (2 shades of foundation, one bronzer, one fine loose powder) and could pronounce everything. It is made of crushed minerals, and they use mica to color. It goes on very light and smooth, yet covers blemishes and dark circles like a miracle. You can't feel it on your face, and it doesn't settle into creases, or look at all like you are wearing makeup. I went to one of the look good, feel better classes and discovered a bunch of makeup I would never use in there, so I actually emailed the president of bare escentuals and asked her why she doesn't support the program, and the experience I have had with her product since having canSer. Oh yes, I was also prone to breakouts OFTEN and have had only 1 pimple since using this stuff, and my natural skin is soft as a baby's bum and I actually get compliments on my complexion now. I just wanted to share this with you all cuz its bad enough we have to lose our hair and have our complexions go to crap while dealing with this demon. Anything we can do to make ourselves look and feel better will help keep our spirits up!!! No I don't work for the company, and haven't been paid any endorsements or anything (I wish...lol) I just want to pass along a good thing when I find it!

And I used something like it back in the 70's, well that dates me, lol, but it came in a pottery jar, and that was all I used in high school. Also, used vasoline for mascara! Worked like a wonder, and easy on the eyes.

Mineral makeup sits on top of your skin instead of soaking in like other makeups, so my skin would look good all day. My only issue with them is that they don't have a great saftey rating on www.cosmeticsdatabase.com. All of their products are rate from 3 to 5 - all in the moderate hazard category. I prefer "Alchemy of Color" which range from 1-3, with many in the low hazard category. I've spoken to the woman who owns that company and she is a 2-time ovarian cancer survivor so she is really cognizant of the safety of her products.

I think it's because theirs is ground too finely and contains microparticles that can seep into your pores.; ▶ Reply to This

BodyShop carries the same thing. Their mineral foundation is 25SPF, whereas Bare Essential, I believe only 15SPF.

It's light, airy, gives your complexion an even tone without looking cakey. If applied with a light hand and good brush, it can make your skin look flawless! No, I don't work with Bare Escentuals either, just love the product :)). And the real icing on the cake is that the makeup line is Very Affordable.; ▶ Reply to This
