Hello,
I am on a year round regimen of temodar and Avastin to try to get a little unoperable brain tumor to shrink (located on top of the brain stem).
I am "lucky" I am not suffering too much from the chemo.
My neuro oncologist follows the protocol of Dr Cloughessy at UCLA who started using it for brain tumors.
I believe it was first used for colon cancer.
Avastin is an anti angyo genesis drug that stops the blood flow to the tumor cells and I was told shows good results in combo with chemotherapy.
I have seen some shrinkage but not drastic enough yet to alleviate pressure on my 4th cranial nerve which causes me double vision (I am a sexy pirate woman now!)
My doctor says he has not seen any problems with it in his patients but with the new controversy on its use for breast cancer and a healthy habit of questioning the medical establishment, I would love to hear of other people's experiences with it.
Peace,
Laetitia
PS : I am doing everything else I can to help myself, (accupuncture, organic, a lot of raw food, chinese herbs, the budwig protocol, exercise, meditation. etc...)
