Vicki - you crack me up - you know the Bob and Doug Christmas song!! Cool! It was a big hit Many many years ago!
Autsin - We are in a National election which means we vote for our local elected official in the House of Commons. The political party with the most seats gets their leader to be Prime Minister. We have a many party system with, in my opinion, not some great choices. The one leader that I enjoy listening to and actually has intelligent things come out of her mouth is the leader of the Green Party - they will be lucky to get one seat.
And for your listening "pleasure" here are Bob and Doug McKenzie and their Christmas song! Enjoy EH!
They were really really big back quite a few years. They recently celebrated their 24 th anniversary and called it the two four! They made fun of everything canadian - kinda sort of. Glad to have given you a laugh today!
PS 8 sleeps till I see my munchkins! Yippee
Take off, eh? Well I tell yah, it's almost time to don the toque in Kingston, Ontario. But Thanksgiving weekend was a real BEAUT, eh? Warm and sunny and YES- I had a cold Brewski while sitting on the back porch. No word of a lie, eh.
Yah, the good ol' boys club is back at 'er here in Canada. Geeee..... wonder which of the scintillating Big Boys will win... What are you each predicting? I'm thinking.... hmmmm.... I'm just throwing this out here... geee.... another minority Conservative government?
We'll see soon enough won't we.
I voted for my local Green Party candidate. I must say, Elizabeth May is refreshing. While they may not get a seat in the House, I wouldn't be surprised if they see their voter numbers go way up. I wonder if we'll ever see the representational government system adopted. Not if the Liberal and Conservative Parties have any say in it. They wouldn't want to see any such thing happen.
Looking forward to hearing the results later tonight.
Yeah, it's great to be Canadian! EH! All of us hosers unit.
I have been really impressed by Elizabeth May - the only candidate to actually say what her party's vision and platform is. I like her approach. The "good ole boys" seem to spend all their money putting down the other good ole boys. Where is a leader when we need one!?
I think you are right Laurie - I hope you are right - a minority govt for Harper. Wouldn't it be great to see some Green party seat in the House
Bob and Doug Mackenzie were all the rage when I was in HS. OMG I never laughed so hard in my life the first time I heard them. Hosers...LOL. Thanks for bringing back the memories. I'll have to go to YouTube and take a longer walk down memory lane...hehe.
Take off...to the Great White North...Take off...its a beauty way to go!
It is a sad statement when Bob & Doug inspire more interest than Stephen & Stephane! Looks like another minority government where 30 million taxpayer's dollars were spent to end up in the exact same place that we started! I spent much of today listening to numerous opinions on that very matter on our local new radio channel. There was an all~time low turn~out of voters at 59.4%, which some went as far as to blame the new rules regarding providing a document bearing the same address as your enumeration card.
I was very pleased to see the Green Party make it onto the ballot.
Looky here. Another minority conservative government. Liberals lose seats and NDP makes gains. Still no greens, right? Alas, more strength for the conservatives- but a minority is a minority.
