Welcome Gen. I cannot belive we have hit 3000 folks. It seems like yesterday we were all waiting for this playground to open.. what a wonderful place of learning,,love,, and joy you have created dear friend. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways...One of MY favorite quotes!!

Kris and Brian, words truly cannot express what you have given all of us here at CSL. I have had a place to grieve, a place to laugh, to learn and share. This site has exploded into a universe of healing that may have originally been intended for canser folks, but instead has become a place for anyone sick or not! Take me for example. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2004 (I don't say I HAVE it, because it's not something I would prefer to own! ha) and have been managing it through my diet and because of that have not been on any meds for 2 1/2 years! I have found such wonderful people to share with and learn from and hopefully help take care of! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

Thanks for welcoming me, everyone! I am excited to learn more about what I can do to improve my health now that I have found this site. A bit about me: I am a 29-year-old stay at home mom to 4 kids 5 and under, and I am also a full-time doctoral student online through a university 2,000 miles away from me in South Carolina. I was dx'd with malignant thyroid cancer in June and have been doing all kinds of crazy things since then. Soaking up life more than ever before...weaning my 7-month-old son after nursing my other kids for at least 3 years apiece...radically changing my diet and lifestyle...educating tons of people about cancer prevention so they can avoid my fate!

I have already had a recurrence of my cancer after just 3 months, and I am scheduled for radioactive iodine ablation in early November. The hardest part of the treatment will be being away from my family for 2+ weeks for the scans, dose, and to allow the radiation to dissipate before I am around my infant son.

Thanks again for the warm welcome - expect to see me browsing all the boards to learn everything I can.

You know, when I came here in the beginning of June, I was number 1700 (guess my book is still in the mail, ahem :-) That goes to show you the amount of exponential growth that goes on at this place. Look what happens when you act on your ideas. Thanks Kris!
