My Crazy Sexy Life

Hey all you spiritual lovers! I am reading this book and "taking" this class online, is anyone else? I have to confess that I have only done the first class so far. I was kicked off the website the first night and it was so choppy for me anyway, I decided I would watch the archives. I am planning on doing the second one this weekend and then regularly keeping up with it. I have gotten through half of the book though. Want to discuss?

Yes to doing the class, reading the book, discussing. There's a discussion thread that was started on this book in the Book Club group, although there hasn't been much activity this week. Maybe you could stir it up?

hi, while i'm here, what do you think about tolle saying not to talk to others about our disease, and discouraging people from asking ?

Tina, sorry for the delay, but I just watched this class, I'm still a little behind. I thought it was interesting what Tolle said about not talking about your disease except with doctors. I think he is not really being clear in what he means though. I think he wants you to not talk about the bad parts of yoru disease. Don't complain about it, don't use as a form of self obsession. Instead talk with your friends and family about your treatment, and how that is going. Talk about things related to the disease, just not about the disease itself. Does that make sense?

Hey Tina! What page was that on? I've just started the book. I think it's a good idea in general. Of course you need to talk about it sometimes...& it shouldn't be a secret either. I think is the perfect place to talk about it....very positive & supportive. I try not to talk about it. Unfortunately I was very open about it from the beginningl, so that's what everyone talks about when they see me & I don't love that.

I am such a SLACKER!! I am signed up to take the classes but between college mid-terms, spring break & helping out around the house..I haven't even bought the book yet!! I am so glad you posted this b/c I am going to get the book today. I had an inkling that this book would be very inspirational to me so I need to dive into it (even if I might be getting a late start) head first! This next Monday night class will be up to Chap. 3 right???

Sabrina, Yes, this coming Sunday will be chapter 3. I think you would even get a lot out of the class without having read the book, so come join us!
WBH - I did not know that there was already a discussion going, I am not a member of that group, because truthfully the only other book that I have read in about 2 years is Kris's! I am not a reader AT ALL! But maybe since this post is outside of a group we will get more discussions going.

I love the webcasts and the book. I would love to talk about it here. I've been discussing it in my blog, but I feel like I'm talking to myself! The simple and powerful principles of this book (and the Power of Now) have shifted my way of thinking, living, and interacting with others. I have adopted many of his suggestions for integrating presence into daily life and its actually working! Anyone else having these experiences?

I would love to discuss the principles. I am a comparative relgion freak and I love the series and so belive in the principle. They are universal laws the universe is structure on and every religon on earth is based on and I love love love this subject. I run a missions and have my phd in divinity and comparative religon and I am a buddhist, catholic, presbyterian? hahaha true.. haha.. lets chat.. you can see more of my work on basicmissions.com we are doing a lenten devotional next week will be the best week it will deal with tough subjects from accepting death to rebirth in abundance today in this life. Not looking for heaven or tomorrow. Just understanding the kindgom of heaven is within and the power to change everything in life is within. The God source is our soul we are God and God is us.. does that make sense then we are not God.. just a spark but a mighty powerful one. Love ya. Callie

Being in the now is allowing the energy of the universal God to use us and allow all the laws to work You cannot work in the past or future and expect results. Hugs callie

I have also been slowly incorporating the principles/teachings from the book into daily life and have been amazed at how much less angry I am at other people. Example: a woman I work with is so, ARGH, hard to work with, you know? She thinks she is always right and you are always wrong and is bitter and angry all of the time. But now I see that it is just her ego that is bitter an angry, probably because it is not satisfied and continually wants. I can see past that now and really see HER. I treat her the way I want to be treated and you know what? She is pretty nice to me now!
Also, I love the whole concept of looking at a situation as just that - a situation - and not getting too self involved in it. I'm the in-office IT person at my work and people get so crazy when something goes wrong with their computers. While I'm all "Lets look at this SITUATION, which is not me, nor does it have any personal attachment to me, and see what can be done." I'm calm, while they're crazy-panicy. I tend to resolve things a lot quicker when I'm calm. What you resist, persists!
Peace much,
K
