My Crazy Sexy Life

I don't know if anyone has heard of CaringBridge.org before but it truly helped my family out a lot when my sister's accident happened. Basically, this website "helps keep loved ones informed during difficult times. In return, family and friends give patient and caregiver support through guestbook messages." It is FREE and only operates on donations.

At the beginning of the whirlwind of hospital visits, Kelzey being airlifted, and family and friends wanting to stay updated on her condition, we heard of this website through someone at the Ronald McDonald House. It truly is an amazing source and gave us much relief! We could simply update EVERYONE about her current condition/where-abouts/what was going to happen with procedures, etc.. It became the hub for "all-things-Kelzey" and once she heals to the point of being able to read again she will see her progress, step-by-step, as well as the outpouring of support she recieved!!

We still use this website and getting the guestbook entries really helps! It can be very uplifting and empowering to read people's kind words and thoughts at the end of an exhausting day. Family/friends and people following can subscribe to have journal updates sent to their e-mail which helps everyone stay on the same page.

It can be so difficult/frustrating/tiring to feel as though you have to answer endless calls to let everyone know the updates!! I hope this website can help someone here out (or someone you know in the future) like it did for my family!!

Take care,
Sabrina

Hi Sabrina, thanks for thinking to share this wonderful resource. I have a caringbridge site we started when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My sister started it to help feed information to people so I didn't have a gazillion phone calls....although I still did. It turned into a huge outlet for me and I journaled my way though treatments. I also loved reading the guestbook entries, I still go back and read them sometimes. I highly recommend it!

Hey all, check out my site.

Laura...I am also so thankful for it -- it has been an irreplaceable resource during my sister's accident and continues to be the go-to spot for all things Kelzey. I'm so glad to hear it helped and continues to help you out!!

Happy Easter Wishes!

I too used that site for the year following my diagnosis. I did not give out the site address to many people then, just close family and friends. It certainly does help with the dissemination of info. I stopped updating my site on Christmas- the one year anniversary of my diagnosis. Here's the link: www.caringbridge.com/visit/librarymom.

Sabrina,
Caringbridge has been a major life-line for my family and I. I found out about the site right before I began treatment and it has turned out to be one of the greatest blessings. Not only does it keep everyone that knows me updated on my journey, but it has been pretty therapeutic for me to journal and write about the experience. The feedback I have recieved has been so encouraging and uplifting. I'm still updating my site constantly and welcome any visitors: www.caringbridge.org/visit/ashleypatterson

Thanks for sharing this great resource!
