Hi there,
Haven't bought a juicer yet, but I am looking into getting one soon. Any really good ones to look into?
What quantity of juice should I be drinking daily?
Thanks
Hi! Well my super-awesome mom has been so kind as to let me use her juicer until I can afford my own. Hers is the Omega juicer, which works great 90% of the time, but certain vegetables seem to piss it off, and then it goes off balance. I don't know if that is a problem with ALL juicers, I know this is a pretty expensive one. But the balance-issues aside, it is easy to use and clean, pretty much all parts can go into the dishwasher which I love.
I'll be watching for other juicer-input too!
ahhhh!!!! i only just saw this one!!!!! SORRY. yes, lets swap stories. im going to send you a message on your page. it's so good to meet a fellow gersoner. i am trying to write this from the laptp in my bathroom with my left hand only (gotta lay on the right side 4 the upsidedown java,, you know how it goes) but i will write soon!

I have the cadillac of juicers, the Norwalk juicer. It was very expensive, $1800 for a refurbished model. It is the best because it makes a pulp by mastication and then squeezes the juice out with a hydraulic press. Supposedly, the juice is 40% more nutritious when you extract it this way. Also, it makes more juice for less produce. Before that I had a Champion. It extracts the juice by mastication. It was pretty good but sometimes the juice was foamy. It was around $200. If you can afford to, avoid cheaper "centrifugal" juicers that extract the juice by spinning. You don't get as much nutrition from its juice. I am on Gerson therapy so I drink 80oz of juice a day. How much juice you needs depends on what health challenges you are facing. Hope this helps!
I have the Breville Juice Fountain, and I absolutely LOVE it! It just shreds everything you feed it, so I've never had any problems juicing particular fruits or veggies.
I've been looking into getting a new juicer myself. Does the Omega good with leafy greens, like Kale? Also, does anyone have any thoughts on a Breville?
I have a JuiceMan Jr. It's about 10 years old. I got it for juicing the apples that grow in my yard. It's a high-speed centrifugal type. It first shreds the veggie/fruit and then spins it fast against a fine screen. It's OK if you're just juicing a single glass of juice. Otherwise, you have to clean the screen pretty often. I just ordered an Omega 8005 from wheatgrasskits.com. There price is currently $222 for the 8005 (chrome) and $209 for the 8003 (white plastic).
I am a juicing newbie and I have limited funds so I got the Breville Juice Compact. It was $79.99 at Bed Bath and Beyond, plus everyone gets those 20% off coupons. So far I love it. I have to say though, that the pulp seems a tad wet to me, and I think I may try just rejuicing some of the pulp, but its a BREEZE to clean and it takes up way little counter space. As for amount of juice, I believe Kris has 2 8oz glasses daily, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, but I'm starting out with just one 8oz-ish in the AM.
Good luck on your juicer hunt!
I saw this as well when I was pricing out the Breville but the demo didn't show whether or not the compact version took leafy greens.....I am guessing your am juice is one that includes leafy greens? That would be great since it's less expensive than the other versions.
Hello,
I have the Lexen Electric. It is a good juicer and juices all veggies, fruit and wheatgrass also has attachments to do other things but i use it just for juicing. Michael Bergonzi at Hippocratesrecommended it and i bought it through . www.877myjuicer.com which is linked through his website. I go tit onsale for about $130.00. If you type in BERGONZI at checkout you get an extra $5 off order. righ tnow i just checked and they have one on sale for $119. and another for $159. they retail for $189.
I drink 4 - 6 oz wheatgrass daily and about 16 -20oz green juice daily.
I hope this helps.
