I am currently fighting my cancer using a program associated with the DR Kelley diet and pancreatic enzymes. Another program very similar is one by Dr Gonzales. If anyone knows of people who are also doing these programs to fight their cancer, or of people who have had success and are now living normal healthy lives....I would love to hear from you! It would be such a big mental boost to talk to people who had actual success using these methods. I am very very interested in finding out the way survivors choose to eat now. Did they stick to vegetarian or to raw foods...do they eat mainly vegies or do they eat fruits and meat? You get the point..right? Im facinated by the cancer/diet connection.
Unfortunately I cannot give you advice as I have not used that protocol myself. I, however, would love to hear about what you have experienced with Dr. Gonzales... I'd definitely see him if I were in that part of the country, and if I could afford it. Any basic info. would be great!
I am very familiar with Dr. Kelly's enzyme theory - i first read his book in 1980, I would be intersted to know what enzymes your are taking and how many at what times. I always assumed if I got cancer I would go to Mexico also but instead I chose to go to Cancer Treatment Centers of America for chemo. They are very holistic and have the Gerson program with supplemts down pretty well. I completely beleive in what you are doing down there. I chose this route because of money (of course insurance will cover traditional). They will not give us a dime for anything else other than good old AMA. I would also like to invite you as a friend so we could discuss further.
I am interested to know if Dr. Kelly is still alive?
Maryann, Here is a link to Dr. Moss' site: www.cancerdecisions.com I'm not sure if there is information on Dr. Kelley there, but its a good starting point. Best of luck, Sherry

I am thinking about going to see Dr. Gonzalez, if nothing else, to find out what I should be eating. He says that some people must eat meat. Remember that he is an MD, very smart, trained at Sloan Kettering. He studied Dr. Kelley's work and probably made it better. He's had survivors on the Mike and Juliet show. I would check out his website. I would guess that he is at the forefront when it comes to Enzyme/Diet Therapy.
I am so glad that somebody dug this up! When I began to look into alternatives, Dr. Gonzales (I hope I have the spelling right) came up right away. I think it was our beautiful Jill who first spoke to me about his work. Then shortly thereafter, I heard from an ex in-law that one of their cousins had been to see Dr. Gonzales. I emailed that cousin and this is what I got back from him:
"Yes I have been seeing Dr. Gonzalez for three years. I have Stage IV melanoma...considered untreatable. I was given about 8 months to live well over three years ago. It took about a year and a half to slow the tumors down and another year to shrink them down to a very small size. I haven't had a PET scan in quite a while but as of the last check one tumor had completely disappeared and the three that remained we are getting smaller and less metabolically active. Chemo and radiation are not proscribed for melanoma. I am on enzymes, detoxification (continual) and a diet specifically tailored to me and the type of cancer. I aIso do daily meditation and healing meditations. I am truly as healthy as I have ever been."
Interesting. Apparently he's doing great. Is anybody else here working with Dr. Gonzales?

I saw Dr.G for my first apt. yesterday. He instills great confidence.
He is extremely rigorous and brilliant and gives the patient the benefit of the doubt (much appreciated).
I have been told (by other oncologists) I have no choice but to do chemo.
I am choosing to work with Dr.G. He was with me for 2hrs yesterday taking a history and doing my vitals.
Next week he will give me the low down on diet etc.
I am stage IIa breast cancer and just had a single mastectomy last month.
I am ER pos. and now considering doing tamoxifin along side Dr.G. He did not oppose.
Anyone have experience with just the tamoxifin and what I may expect with side effects??

Thanks.
