Does soy affect the absorption of thyroid medication?

I never heard the flouride/toothpaste thing? I use a natural toothpaste with no flouride anyway...but what's up with that? Am I the only one in the dark about this one? Thanks, Sherry

I did read that flouride can cause thyroid cancer. Scary thing...I would go to the dentist and get the flouride treatment, flouride rinse at home, and having braces for 4 years, I was constantly rinsing and brushing...
And in grade school I would do the weekly flouride treatment. Eek! My acupuncturist brought up a good point. Read the back of a tube of toothpaste (with flouride). It says to supervise children under 6 to make sure they don't swallow it. And if they do swallow more than needed to brush- contact poison control immediately. Well he continued to say that flouride is just like rat poison. If I child ate half a tube of toothpaste...they would die in less than 20 minutes! So think about it...if we brush at least twice a day we are putting a poison into our bodies. So about 5 years ago when I had my braces I would brush upwards to 5 or 6 times a day for years, swish with ACT flouride rinse...about the time doctors and the pathologist estimate that I had the cancer... coincidence? My teeth are white, straight and strong- yet I have cancer. And it could very well be because of my teeth.

I drink tap water that is filtered (It removes the flouride and chlorine and other nasty chemicals.

Thanks for the info Lauren...very interesting food for thought. Just a few more changes to make around here...for my kids especially! There is the possibility that the flouride contributed to toxins in your body, but I don't believe it could have been the cause. Whatever the case, we need to make peace with our situations and more forward to healing...looking back is helpful to making the changes we need to live for the future. xo Sherry

Oh I don't think it was the flouride completely that gave me my royal pain in the neck...(no pun intended). But I am sure it helped contribute...both sides of my family have thyroid issues, but so far I am the first to be diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

My theory, what doesn't kill me, makes me stronger. And even after I fight with all I have and I still die- that's what God has chosen for me. Cancer doesn't really bum me out anymore. I don't have time to carry a grudge. :)
