My theme song is Combat Baby by Metric....the lyrics of the chorus are what I say to myself when I feel like I'm losing my inner strength...they are:
"Combat Baby, come back baby
Fight off the lethargy
Don't go quietly, Combat Baby
You said you will never give up easy
Combat Baby come back..."
Not only do I love the lyrics...but the song has such a great rock beat that you HAVE to get up and dance when you hear it!!!! and that just makes me feel good!

Holy Moly!!!! Lori! This is also my A-1, bring out the punchin' bag, screw you cancer, fightin' song!!! It's the CD that I listen to on the long drives to my specialist, the CD I listen to when I exercise (which is sometimes very hard to do) and the CD I use to prep for surgeries!!!!

Right on! and Rock on! We should contact her and let her know how her song is being used!

I hope to see them at the Ottawa Bluesfest in July... I'd love to listen to Emily Haines live.

Anyone want to check this rockin' band out go to www.ilovemetric.com.

Another great line coming from Metric: "Cynicism has turned to celebration, hopelessness to happiness"

Ahhh...that's fabulous!!!! Metric played here in Vancouver at the Commodore last month...I wasn't able to go but my friend went with some other couples and he phoned me from there when they went on stage....I got to listen via phone!!!

"Born to Run" by Bruce Springsteen - loud, in the car, windows open, singing my heart out! (My kids are particularly amused when this mood strikes!)

I also love Middle of Nowhere, Bandages and You Owe Me and IOU all by Hot Hot Heat...

I love the song from Casting Crowns, "Praise You in the Storm" When my husband died four years ago, it became my song as well as "The Voice of Truth" also by Casting Crowns. Now I have canser, and my song is "Fighter" by Christina Aguilara. Canser, put up your dukes! Praise God He has made me a fighter!

Theme Song: Fighter by Christina Aguilera
Motivational: I Will Be by Christina Aguilera

I have ALOT of love for Christina Aguilera's Stripped album. It's my favorite, ever.

I don't have a theme-song. It is different everyday. Today I am listening to CELTIC WOMAN: many times I don't understand the lyrics, but it does not matter, I am still floating... beautiful voices... beautiful music...

Another really BEAUTIFUL album is The Zest of Flying Mountain by....Flying Mountain. They were a band that was together for a few years in the late 70's, early 80's. They got together again for the first time in 27 years in March of this year and I went to see them perform. Check out their music on their myspace page or at www.flyingmountain.net

Some of the songs are hauntingly beautiful....this is an album that I listen to when I need to smile and feel good.

Hmmm... I know too many songs to just choose a few! Ok...
Tubthumping by Chumbawumba (you all know it - "I get knocked down, but I get up again...")
The whole soundtrack of "Singing in the Rain" (I am a sucker for old time musicals) especially "Good morning!"

PROUD, by Heather Smalls.
Her music touches my source.
Her voice... Her words.

PROUD (partial lyrics)
I look into the window of my mind
Reflections of the fears I know I've left behind
I step out of the ordinary
I can feel my soul ascending
I am on my way
Can't stop me now
And you can do the same

What have you done today to make you feel proud?
It's never too late to try
What have you done today to make you feel proud?
You could be so many people
If you make that break for freedom
What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Now for "I will survive".
Was on a cruise a few years ago and in the Karaoke Lounge. I bet you can see where this is going... Well a woman stands up and says she is a cancer survivor and wants to sing I will survive, but her friend will not join her on stage...
Remember grade school, when you knew the answer? UP GOES MY HAND!
"I will sing with you! I am a cancer survivor too!!!"
So up to the stage I LEAP!
Now I am a rust alto, and had forgotten the song is really in a soprano range...
The music starts and the woman next to me starts singing in baratone range!
ruh roh... I am in trouble now! But I keep singing... what the heck...
So the entire song was sung in baratone range!
"I survived".
hee.
