We seem to always be talking about cleaning out the pooper with enemas, colonics and various other devices. Good rectal health is essential! But what about the other end of the tube?
Good dental and oral health is essential to overall health. Tooth decay and plaque are now being thought of as cardiac risk factors. High cholesterol used to be the "culprit" for heart attacks. Not anymore. It is now thought that dental plaque and bacteria can make it's way into the arteries and cause a clog that can result in a heart attack.
A few month's ago I found oral Nirvana! I was looking for a new water pik and stumbled upon the Redibreeze. This little gadget is amazing! I have since bought one for my kids, parent's and in-laws. It feel's so good, it is addicting! And my teeth and gums have never been so healthy. I have recommended it to many of my patient's. (God! I sound like an infomercial! sorry!).
Anyway, check it out on Amazon and see what you think.
Melanie, I agree that oral health is VERY important. In addition to cleaning teeth well & getting rid of plaque, etc, it is also important to use toothpaste that doesn't have toxic stuff in it like flouride, sodium laryl sulfate. Safely removing root canals & mercury fillings are additional good supports.
I checked out your Amazon ad. What is it that you find so great about it besides that it feels good?
Michalene
I agree about the toothpaste. I only found one that doesn't have something nasty in it and it's so expensive. So now I make my own and it works even better than any of the commercially prepared ones I've used. It makes my teeth feel so fresh and clean!
Toothpaste recipe:
Thoroughly mix 3 parts baking soda with 1 part salt
To each half cup of homemade powder, add 3 teaspoons of glycerin, 10-20 drops of flavoring (peppermint, wintergreen, anise, cinnamon or whatever)
Mix the ingredients thoroughly in a bowl and add just enough water to make the concoction "tooth-pastey". Spoon the substance into a small refillable plastic squeeze bottle or any container that dispenses easily and won't leak.
VoilÁ! Toothpaste!
Hello Michalene, I like it because it is quick and convenient to use. With my old water pic I always had to haul it out and plug it in. I am amazed that this could be so simple. And it get's the green stuff out from between my teeth! lol. I agree with your comment about using natural toothpaste and getting rid of the mercury. I have been using plain baking soda for awhile now.
Kids I have to confess, my oral health was horrible.. I just hate going and put it off for sooooooooooooo long that I just endured a deep cleaning and OUCH it hurt and let's just say.. there WAS Blood, lots of it, cannot be good for my WBC!!!
Now I am flossing like a fool and brushing correctly and there is NO more blood... finally!
Took me a while to get this good result but it was worth it.
PLEASE don't neglect your teeth and gums like I did, maybe it contributed to my 'bad blood', I will see how I do at the onc in July.
love deb
PS Mel , i will check this thing out!
The doctors which performed open heart surgery on my younger sister think that she caught a virus (which attacked a weak spot of her heart) from poor dental hygiene after getting braces fitted. I remember at the time that she had a real adversion to cleaning her teeth.
Therefore, I totally agree oral health is VERY important!
