I am exploring different options. I won't go back on the pill as it caused way too many problems for me and I think contributed to my cervical dysplasia.
I am no looking into Lady Comp and the Fem Cap. Lady Comp is similar to charting but it does all the work for you. You can also start developing a history of information (up to 15 years) that you can use later when trying to get pregnant. If you are trying to get pregnant it can also help you conceive a boy or a girl. It's expensive but looks really cool.
Also since I have issues with that region I would love to know what people found in their experience and what was the least intrusive or irritating. I even worry about lubricants, spermicides, etc.
What has everyone's experiences been and what do you prefer? Are there natural lubricants, etc.
Hi there-
I had to have a hysterectomy due to my cervical cancer....but my two cents is that the lady comp looks great. When I was trying to conceive I did it the Catholic natural planning way. If you are tuned in to your body and the mucus secretions (sorry if TMI) it works. You could find info on that on the internet and combine it with one of your other choices. Good luck!
I got a fab lube idea from Kris- coconut oil! I keep some in a jar by the bed. ;)
I am still on the pill but considering going off. Honestly, I stay on it for mental health. I'm afraid that PMS will trigger my depression and send me into a black hole. Although, lately, I'm PMS-ing even being on the damn pill.
I'm going to look into the Lady Comp.
BTW, I was terrified, but I finally got the courage to try the Diva Cup after reading about it here. I feel great about it! Better for the planet, better for me, a win win!
Pelvic radiation.....umm. nevermind...That one wasn't by choice...LOL. Basically, in terms of lubes, etc, my sister (the herbalist) has a rule...Don't put anything up your woo-hoo that you wouldn't put in your mouth....Oh...I could take that to soooo many levels..sick, I know...I will ask her what she recommends for natural lubes, and as far as spermicides go...would you eat it? ewwwww..
Hi there - thanks for this post Bueller. I've done some research on Lady Comp and even though it's expensive I'm thinking about getting it. I went off bcp several months ago and don't want to start again after having CIN 3 and having abnormal paps several times. I agree with you that I don't want to go through that again and this seems to be the best and easiest natural option. There's a long string of posts about it on: http://www.aphroditewomenshealth.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=show...
Michelle - I agree. I won't go back on Birth Control either because of having dysplasia.
I've been using it now for a month and it's still recording all my data to learn my patterns. It was spot on for my first cycle even though I ovulated on day 24. So I really like it. I also like the fact that it will hold data for 15 years. Not that I will need it for that long. But now I will know what is happening in my body and I will have a record of it.
