I am at a loss for words right now. My (soon to be) step sister Heather found out today she has a brain tumor. Heather has a brain tumor. Even though I have said these words over and over again it still doesnt make sense. She is 33.
Heather has been having headaches for awhile now. She was also having some other issues and was going to have an MRI but didnt due to insurance reasons. (dont get me started on insurance companies!) So she was at the eye doctor and they told her their was fluid on her brain. she was sent immediatly to the hospital to have it drained. At 2:00a.m. when she got a MRI they found a tumor at the base of her brain. She is scheduled for surgery Tuesday morning. My mom and her fiance Joey (heather's dad) are in Hawaii... Heather is in Chicago. so the earliest flight out is on Sunday. They are a mess being so far away from her until Sunday night. they will have all day monday with her until the surgery.
They have not said what kind of tumor it is... they will not know for sure until the surgery. the doctors are optimistic.
Please send healing thoughts to Heather. She is one of the kindest soules i have ever met. Family is her life. She;s the type of girl who flies home from Chicago to Youngstown Ohio just so she can watch a sporting event on tv with her grandpa. She helps keep the family together... she is often the person that everyone goes to for strength. Heather is going to need all the strength she can get to face whatever path lies ahead.
I love Heather with all my heart.
Please send her positive thoughts and prayers and light and energy.
thank you so much

i just wanted to thank all of you so much for your words of comfort and prayers. Im sorry I havent talked much since my post but i have been sending out positive energy to everyone here as well.
Her surgery was today and she is doing great! the dr. said it was not cancerous, it was a calcification that formed at the base. the prognosis is fabulous. i feel so blessed we were given good news. thank you so much for all your prayers. i really think that helped calm me down and be there for my family knowing i had support of others.
i am always here for all of you,
love you all
