Good Morning everyone!
I am seeking any advice, assistance, suggestions, etc. for my mother. About 4 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a full mastectomy of her left breast. Once her breast was removed, she went through about 6 chemo treatments and the chemo significantly lowered her blood presure so her Oncologist, at that time, took her off chemo and perscribed tamoxfin. Approximately 2 years after that her cancer came back on the left breast. She went through another round of surgery and radiation.
Now her cancer has spread to her liver. Around January this year her Oncologist said that she had 6 months to live, as she was unable to walk due to the pain number of tumors in her liver causer. In March/April, we started to see improvement, she had her energy back (well most of it), was able to do pretty much everything, except she got tired easily.
For the last 2 months she has been receiving chemo and for the last week or so, she hasn't been feeling well, has pain, her bilirubin level is back up again to 20 (the normal range in women is 1-3, I believe) and she is afraid that the cancer has spread. The last time that she went to receive treatment (last Thursday), her Oncologist said that she could not receive the chemo.
I am optimistic that my mother can battle this, with lots of help. I am doing whatever I can to help her out and make her life at home comfortable.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what meals and foods are healthy for her and if there is any other treatment that she should try out, we are open to trying anything and everything.
~Sarah
