My Crazy Sexy Life

Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to share that I made it to the True Colors concert at Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center, NY on June 14th!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a GREAT time. There were performanaces by Deborah Cox, The Cliks, Cyndi Lauper, B-52s, "stand up" by Rosie O'donnell (who was not at all funny & only spoke about her mother who died of breast cancer when Rosie was little and about how bitter she is about The View.) It was hosted by Carson Kressley from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy & Look Good Naked. He was VERY funny! The whole tour is to raise money and awareness for gay/human rights. I enjoyed it so much!

There were lightening storms & quite a down pour, so a lot of people didn't show up. Cyndi Lauper called all the people on the lawn (that would be me) to move up into the pavillion. It was a huge party.....
The main attraction for me (and a lot of other people) were the B-52s!!! They so rocked! I can't even express how much fun I had. I was there w/ my husband, who sat in his seat w/ his arms crossed the whole time (which he does at any concert), my 16 yr old daughter & her friend. Me & my daughter danced to every song the B-52s played...they played a bunch of songs from their latest CD Funplex, which I loved. They also played Roam, Love Shack, Private Idaho & Rock Lobster & lots more!!!
For the encore they did a sing along of Everyday People and True Colors which was incredible. Cyndi Lauper's son Decklin who is about 10 came out & break danced and sang with his mom. It was just so much fun!
I am so grateful that my 16 year old daughter danced with me the whole time....shimmied with me....my husband said we looked choreographed! :-) We laughed & hugged & it means so much to me!

What concerts are YOU going to this Summer????? Share with us!!!

I am so glad you had such a blast!! Sounds like so much fun!
I'm going to see Feist next month and I'm hoping to be able to get Regina Specktor tickets too. I'm sure there will be more shows to see as well. I love going to concerts.

Yes....FUN!!!
Where do you usually go for concerts? I love to go to outdoor venues in the summer. Bethel Woods, SPAC, Jones Beach.

I just love you Jenny. I am calling this "concert therapy" :) I am going to a Ricky Scaggs tonight (by invitation from my dad- I don't actually even know any of his songs, I hope it will be fun anyway!!). I would love to go to a more upbeat fun concert, but apparently there aren't any good ones near me. So, I create my own concerts in the living room. I pump up the music and the kids and I dance around like we're rock stars!!

Go Stephanie!
I have done that w/ my kids a lot...but not now that they're older! :-)
I hope you had a lot of fun at the concert! Just make sure you keep playing B-52s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to see Butch Walker. Yes, you've never heard of him, so just Google him, you'll be summarily impressed. He gives the best live show I have ever seen in my life, and he has to be one of the nicest, most genuine people I have ever met. I follow him around the planet!

I LOVE Hot Girls In Good Moods. It's on heavy rotation on my workout playlist :).

Hi

I also went to the TRUE COLOURS CONCERT in Toronto. I danced to the B-52's too. Way to much fun. Rosie to me was great. Sharing her feelings. The act was about real life. Her start of THE BUSINESS...her family and her Mom. I just LOVED it. It was like to me a funny friend telling me a funny, emotional real story. I enjoyed.
Cyndi is great. The last song was emotional to me. True Colours...yes people, we are all the same.

I'm so glad you went too! I think I really didn't like Rosie's part in the show b/c I have breast canser & was there with my daughter....we were having so much fun and then Rosie came out & started talking about that. I found it depressing & brought down our mood. It would be great if it were an interview, book, etc. It didn't seem appropriate during a fun concert though.
Other than that it was all big smiles & dancing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
