My Crazy Sexy Life

I previously only had about four of these red 'things'. My first was on my left breast, and I was told it was a birth mark although I wasn't born with it. It just sort of showed up one day in the past couple of years (I'm 31). Soon afterward, I got another on my left side, and then one on my leg and another on my abdomen.

They appear to be breeding while I sleep. They start off tiny and get bigger, sometimes they just come out big, although I've not caught them in action and can't quite figure out how I didn't see them while small.

They are not itchy, painful or anything like a rash. Almost like a mole, except not elevated (the big ones are a tiny bit elevated, but not much). I've included a picture that has the best of both worlds. Both the tiny ones and a big one. The tiny ones are mostly gravitating to the left of the picture and on the right to the bottom portion, there's a couple freckles you can disregard as I've always been their owner.

Basically, anything not brown is not 'mine' and I don't know why they are on me.

They do not appear to discriminate and are on my arms, legs, stomach, breasts, and my sides. I only have 2-3 on my face. I have no idea if anything is on my back since I can't see my back.

In order to see the tiny ones you'll have to enlarge the attached picture by simply clicking on the picture.

Any information would be appreciated. Preferably information on how to make them go away! :)

Hmmm, very interesting indeed. I have one that looks very similar on my arm, but I've always had it and haven't gotten any new ones (at least that i've found). Mine looks like a very slightly raised red beauty mark, I own lots of brown ones too, not really any moles.

When in doubt...Google. Check this out, didn't read all the way down but started noticing lots of similarities with your description above: http://www.doctorslounge.com/dermatology/forums/backup/topic-2793.html

Yeah. I've been all around Google. It's weird because of the size variation. Some explanations say they are usually in this spot or that spot, some come once you're a specific age, some are with infections, diseases, etc. I wish there was an easy way to narrow it down.

The sizes of mine are just weird. Anywhere from the tiny spots in the picture in my original pots, to medium ones on the same picture to larger ones, like on my breast (below). They don't bother me at all physically; no pain, itching, nothing. It's purely cosmetic.

This is the one on my left breast (taken a while back, it's actually bigger now).

yeah, the most common thing sounds like Campbell de Morgan spots and summed up as another fun part of aging. I'm not one to settle on something so easily though, I'm one that likes to know for sure (or as close to for sure as I can get ;) let me know if you come across anything else, i'll keep poking around as well.

I did a quick run in with my nurse today just to ask her opinion on whether or not I'd be safe to put this on the back burner. Mind you, I am having some other debilitating symptoms and wanted to make sure there's no association between them all.

She said it's called petechiae, which was one of my guesses per my google game. It said to put a glass against them and if they don't vanish that's probably what it is.

Thankfully (for you) I got most of my frustrations out via email regarding the other symptoms which triggered a pretty epic panic attack (I love you Baldy) so I'll spare you the details.

Basically, my veins are dilating in various locations and shocking me. I know that sounds stupid, and I can assure you - it actually IS stupid. But it's terrifying to say the least, and extremely painful. I'm hoping it's just some neuropathy of sorts or perhaps muscle spasms that are pushing my veins outward. Unfortunately, however, I'm very aware of my body because of my history with ignoring it - I try my best to stay tuned in to note changes. I take before and after pictures of my veins so I can have visual markers to see the severity of my symptoms. My worse vein, in front of my right ankle will be average and very hard to see but when it shocks me, it's large - about as big around as a pencil. It's only temporary, five minutes - thirty at the most. But I won't lie here and say I didn't have myself convinced I was about to die from a clot or something.

I left my stuff in the car today in which the man has, or I'd be getting labs done right about now. But I will get some done tomorrow morning and my nurse said just some basic testing will give a lead into the right direction. She said for an average person, petechiae can be normal. But for me and my past medical history, she won't take chances and taking the other symptoms into account - there's probably something angry in my blood (she used better wording, of course).

We're just going to start off with the standard CBC and also PTT to put my mind at ease (checks clotting stuff). Hopefully that gives me some kind of direction to go in. I almost feel like my previous complaints about pain in the past were petty compared to this, because nothing stops it.

I am aware enough of my body that I told her I am positive my heart is fine (short of what I already had wrong with it) and my palpitations and feeling of being oxygen deprived (I was not) was a panic attack. I'm 99.9% sure I let the pain freak me out and I threw myself into a panic attack, which resulted in my thinking it was the end. Hehe.

The anxiety symptoms have resolved on their own. I self-treated with some unhealthy snacks.

*ducks*

Anyway, if I find out anything I'll post here. For now I'm just kind of sitting here roughing it out. I opted not to make an appointment to get a prescription for two reasons. I told my nurse I didn't want to mask the pain and end up missing major symptoms. That's true, but I'd like to not have this pain right now because it sucks. The other reason is if I make an appointment (self-pay) I can't pay for my labwork. And the labwork is what I need more than hopping on a table whining and dropping however much on pain pills.

Anymore these days, I think I'd be confused if I lived a life without physical pain. On the bright side, some of the pain makes for good jokes. Like my "left ass" gets shocked. If you can't laugh at your ass cheek getting shocked, what can you laugh at? Ok, the right one. Good point!

Apparently I have vasculitis. I (we) are unsure why at this time, but I guess I have some testing ahead of me. From my understanding, the dots and temporary vein enlargement (and pain) are associated with one another. I guess vasculitis normally has a reason, so they need to do some tests to find that reason.

In the event you're curious, I'll attach images of what my veins do. Basically, it shocks me then they stick out and then they go away like it never happened. I'm smart enough to take pictures when it happens. :) There's also something else they've said is probably associated and it's something called a spider nevus, or something about a spider and a nev-something. It's on the hand pic. The feet pictures..the vein in question is in front of my inner-left ankle. I threw in a few of my left inner arm area, also.

Spider Angioma (usually normal/harmless) on eye and hand

Hopefully the pics will be of some use to people in the event they have such weird symptoms as I did. I hope I can get better pictures one day, but when it happens I kind of freak out so I never get a pic while it's at it's peak since I'm too busy ...well...freaking out. :)

These look like cherry angiomas. I have a bunch of them on my trunk as well. From what I know, they are completely benign and people start getting them in their 30's. A few sites, however, insinuated that large amounts of them showing up on the body can indicate an internal malignancy...Ya don't say...LOL. Hope that helps!

Yeah, oddly enough they all showed up right after my birthday. I assumed it was my "Gift" of aging. Haha. My primary concern is just the whole vein shocking thing. The cosmetics of it all doesn't bother me as much as being shocked randomly by something I don't understand. I obviously don't have a severe form (per my Google investigations) and I have a lot of respect for anyone who does. It looks awful and terrifying and I suddenly feel shamed for bitching about some tiny dots. The severe form cases huge dots, and gangrenous fingers and such. Strokes even!

But as usual, they won't know exactly what the cause of it is until I throw enough money at them..er..I mean have a lot of tests done. :) Heheh!

Wow, well, i'm glad you at least know for the most part what they are and I hope you can figure out what's causing them and get that sorted! Take good care, hugs!

I can't believe all this! Your poor veins. I hope you get to the bottom of this. You could have a mystery show of your own that is related to tracking down all of your symptoms. Kind of like a private eye. Or like House?

Anyway, I hope it's calmed down a little.
