How much Green Juice are you all drinking each day? How many ounces? I have been doing about 6-8 oz. on an empty stomach each morning. Is that a good start?
Also, I juice a lot of celery and cucumbers. ( in additon to other stuff) I think that the cukes and celery have little nutrition in them? Thoughts?
Hi ALZ,
I drink one morning juice, one afternoon juice - about 10 ounces each time. Sometimes I miss the afternoon juice if my day is too hectic. I use cucumber in all my juices along with lots of whatever dark greens I have around. I use a lot of romaine, kale, spinach and other greens. I can't do celery I don't know what it is about it. I love raw celery, but not in my juice... I also add a lemon to each juice. Just cuts the green a little and is still alkaline. I guess anything goes! I have tried other combinations when I am trying to use up veggies in my fridge!
Just starting out, wondering what juicer you bought, and any advice on quitting sugar! The juicing sounds great
what do you eat for your third meal. How long did it take you to get off the processed foods, my mom is coming for 12 days in August to help me get started and I would love some advice as this may be my last hope at getting well again! thanks ellie
Hi Ellie
We make juice, can't buy it as it is pasteurized. You may have a Whole foods with a juice bar that does veggie drinks, otherwise you need to get a juicer and do it yourself!

I use the Breville and I love it! I am going through a major processed sugar detox right now and I feel great. Focus on what you CAN eat, rather than what you can't eat. There are so many wonderful fruits and veggies out there to enjoy, not to mention sprouted breads and healthier grain (quinoa and millet!). Staying hydrated and exercising help keep me away from sweets too. Once you get a juicer, try a juice feast for a day. It helps me to wipe the slate clean and reduces cravings for processed foods. You can read about juice fasts/feasts at Kris blog here and here. There is also a group called Crazy Sexy Life Cleanse/Fast that is packed with great info. Enjoy!

To get off sugar Ellie use Stevia and Agave as sweetners instead of sugar. For processed foods try to eat more grains like Quinoa, Buckwheat Sobu Noodles, Kamut and Whole Grains at first. For a sweet fix if you are dying make a chocolate banana smoothie with chocolate almond milk and unsweetened cocoa. That will fix your sweet tooth. You can also make homemade ice cream out of almond milk. All on my blog. Check it out. We are here to help. You may be surprised to find that fresh green juice with lemon will kill your sweet food cravings almost instantly. Good for you for! Keep up the good work!
How about some broccoli stems - they are actually a bit on the sweet side believe it or not!?! I add lemon & ginger and sometimes a few baby carrots to the greens I juice too - I like changing things around to get a different taste, too. Enjoy & cheers!! xo Sher
In addition to all the greens I am juicing, I also add apples for taste and recently sour cherries that I pick right on the farm: delish!! During winter, I was adding organic oranges and grapefruits for their sour taste.
Now I also enjoy eating a lot of blueberries freshly picked on the farm: together with my green juice it's like a special treat for breakfast: JUST LOVE IT!! : )))
On Sunday, 11/23, Kris Carr and other special guests will be speaking at the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary's ThanksLiving Banquet.
