My dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last April. He had surgery, and decided against chemo. The docs gave him 8-12 months without treatment. He is doing ok for now. Struggling with pain issues.
I am a 7 year breast cancer survivor and having a hard time with being on the other side of things.
It got tons of press in Canada & other countries but not here. Guess they don't want their "sponsors" the pharmaceutical companies to stop advertising with them because they inform Americans of this - non patent cancer drug.
Hey Aneta! So sorry to hear about the challenges in your family. The video link on DCA you shared is fascinating. Hadn't heard about it yet, so thanks for sharing that. Have you heard anything about the human trials? My best to you & your family as you navigate this journey!
Cathy, I too have pancreatic cancer. The pain has always been the biggest issue. After taking endless amounts of narcotics I took the plunge and had an intrathecal pump installed which delivers morphine directly to my spine. The pain is almost totally gone! And just as importantly, the awful side effects from the narcotics are gone (loss of appetite, constipation, grogginess, apathy...somehow, the drugs never made me feel "good".) The quality of my life has greatly improved. Any questions, please write back. Jann
I will be keeping you both in my prayers, Cathy. I just wanted to share this. I don't know where you are or where your dad is as far as what he wants to do. I don't blame him for skipping the chemo. If your dad would be interested I saw a show about people that were given only a few months to live. They both had pancreotic cancer. This doctor in new york is doing nutritional therapy and now the people are cancer free. It was The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet. And the doctor's website is www.Dr-Gonzalas.com. I lost 2 fathers to cancer. My father, and my father-in-law. I found that it was much easier to deal with the pain, when I just let the pain out by crying, or talking about it, every single day. By staying strong for him, but shedding all my fears about his condition here with people that would lift me up. By turning to God and praying my heart out. When I bottled up my pain and fear, it only prolonged it. Share all your love with him. Smother him with it. Don't leave anything left unsaid. I;m sorry you have to go through this. All my love to you friend.
Jenn, YES! Dr. Gonzales has reportedly had great success with pancreatic cancer. I believe he is now getting some positive attention in the medical world these days vs. being persecuted. Can't remember just now, but I think he may even be doing some clinical study.
