good to hear from you again! yes, i had a great weekend and am doing well, vacationing in lovely california at the moment and celebrating a friend's birthday (friend who helped me get through my lobectomy last year). we're having a blast! take good care and thanks for visiting. look forward to hearing from you anytime.

I was really enjoying our grandma conversations, too.
Yes, we get big storms down here (mastery of understatement on display again). My favorite was hurricane wilma which landed on my house one week before my hysterectomy and cancer diagnosis. This place was severely torn up and the aftermath of surgery and hurricane seemed to mirror each other.
Here's an interesting thing known to hurricane survivors -- when flora is destroyed by storm it is followed by a "greening up." This is like a super spring when plants and trees (the ones that are left) bloom with an exuberance never before seen. I thought that was a good metaphor for my recovery, too.
So you'll be seeing the grandkids soon? That's very exciting.
