About Me:: My mom was recently diagnosed with Stage IV, non-small cell adenocarcinoma, (lung cancer). She is turning 53 this month. I am so very proud of my mom, her attitute is very strong, brave and positive. I truly believe a driven personality and strong will is what you need to succeed. I created this sign-in to help facilitate her healing, aid her education and show her the wonderful support system she can access online. Your friendship and support is welcomed.

Yes I'm in Perth, western australia so there are alot of beaches and parks. Its great but its a fairly quiet city if you're looking for more to do then I'd try over east. Sydney and melbourne have more things to do & see. Don't get me wrong W.A does have its goodsides too! (:

Yap I'm thinking of heading to Margaret River its like about 4 hrs drive and there are lots of vineyards and some spas so it'll be very peaceful there. Because the air is alot clearer and the food is great !

Well now I have about a months break and then I have to go for an MRI to see how the radiation helped, and then I go see the Dr about if I do chemo or have it later. So if I need chemo, have to make an appointment with the Chemotherapist. I'm lucky I'm under the best in Australia. So its really lucky that she decided to do her research her in Perth.

Had plans to take a break somewhere overseas..but now I find out I can't jump on a plane until I'm given the all clear by the Dr. And there's a waiting list to see him so will have to wait until the 12Nov. Anyway am cutting down my steroids so will have to go without them, see how that goes.

I'll be praying that your mum does alright and that she comes through at the end of the treatment and looks cancer right in the eye and says "is this all you've got? bring it on !! "

tell her to hang in there...there will be good days and bad but the trick is to always remember the good and constantly remind ourselves of it.

oooo fall weather how nice ! I envy you it, because its getting too hot for beanies, will have to resort to scarves but even then ...its way too hot.

ya it was my last day yesterday of radiation !! yippee ...so today i'm celebrating, got dinner on.

Ya I have ups and downs...one moment I'm feeling positive ...and the next I let it get to me. But in general I'm doing alright. Just have to take each moment as it comes and have self confidence that I'm healing.

Dr. E runs CROC (Citizens Reunited Something Cancer) that has a dinner once a month in Orange county...they provide a nice free dinner, a speaker, activity, etc.

Are you near Montgomery too? My support group meets there...let me know if you want me to PM you the imfo.
