Profile Information

About Me:: I've been fighting cancer since age 9 and am working on my fourth major tumor. Chemo and radiation aren't options for me, but I've had surgery a few too many times. I rock out with my three stainless steel plates and 14 screws holding me together and went to almost 10 years of PT to help me live with only 10% use of my left arm. My most recent tumor is hanging out near my spine, trying to slow me down, but I'm giving it the good fight. Green juice, raw food, a fabulous oncologist, a few prescriptions, and the greatest family and friends in the world are truly the best medicine on earth...

When I first told my mom about this super cool book I saw at Barnes and Noble called "Crazy Sexy Cancer," she busted out laughing. I told her all about Kris and everything I had read. She then asked "does this mean you are crazy and sexy now???" I replied back "no, I think I'm more classy and fabulous!" So now, when my friends want to know how I'm feeling but not make me feel like the "sick" girl, they ask me if I'm feeling classy and fabulous today :)

I am a devout Irish-Catholic girl, so when Kris says "Buddah/Elvis/Jesus/etc," I think "Father, Son, Holy Spirit, Mary, the angels, the saints, and all of those in Heaven." Attending Mass, praying the rosary and other devotionals, reading the Bible and Catechism, and going to Confession are all intregal parts of both my life and my recovery.

When I'm not battling the C-word, I enjoy cooking, fashion, taking roadtrips, and sporting events! I ADORE the Blackhawks (hockey), Cubs (baseball), and Packers (football). I have season tickets (or am on the waiting lists!) and attend as many games as possible. It may sound a bit strange, but as a sports fan, I feel like we are all equal. Win or lose, we are still fans of one team and it keeps us on common ground--just like those of us fighting cancer. Its a wonderful distraction from being sick...

This weekend it the rebuild and it has to be updated My poor supporter who donate and give the grants they know the work is being done because I am spending thier money but heaven..help.. that sight has got to get currant. I adore Mary and the Hail Mary. I always feel that here is a woman that has experience all the things humans do and she was humble and full of faith and just took life as a gift. From teenage pregnancy to superstar status to the death of a child and a priest in her own right. She is the perfect role model for women. Brave and sure that this shall pass and God is taking care of her. I wish I was that brave. I hope the aches go away soon... and all is well I love that we are friends.. Aren't nuns the best.. so centered and peaceful after you graduate highschool anyway.. hahah until then they scare the mess out of you. I had twelve years of catholic school and 6 years jesuit university.. although i currently dont go to a catholic church i will always be that first...but I loved the convent and loved the lessons and the habits and the old church.. blessed be..
