Dear Daria- Surgery was a success. The takedown was easy and there were no signs of cancer!!! Hooray! Recovery is painful due to the fact that I have 2 incisions in my abdomen. But everyday is better. I can't wait to get better so that we can have playdate. What happened with your pet scan??? Prayers to you and your family. Love- Jen

Dear Daria,

I'm sorry you didn't get happier or more clear cut results to your pet scan. I've been there with having inoperable stuff -- that was the only reason I agreed to radiation and chemo, since they couldn't remove it.

I'm not up on all the details of your story, but have you gotten second and third opinions on whether or not they can surgically remove your mass? When I was told my naughty node was inoperable, I went straight to the top -- flew to NYC for a consult at Sloan Kettering. When the surgeon there concurred that it could not be removed, I at least felt that if they couldn't do it there, they couldn't do it anywhere.

The other top place would be MD Anderson in Houston, but I have family in NYC so we went there. Both places are extremely helpful about getting you set up for a 2nd opinion appt and helping you find a reasonably priced place to stay.

The waiting part is so . . . sucky. I hope you'll be through with it soon.

Thank you for inviting me as a friend. I love your pix of you and your sweetie. She is adorable. I have a son (but he's 5' 9" and a little awkward to cuddle - being 20 may have something to do with it as well).

I just gone through 2 surgeries for thyroid cancer and am starting the next step in my treatment.

I cannot wait to get to know you either.. How was your week.. Mine was crazy but great.. we are really rocking the bs. here and my husky came to work with me this week and we have created yet another work a holic in the family. Life was so busy though. I have missed you all I have only had a few minutes each day to check in..then run..let me know how you are doing. Love ya thanks for the comment. Callie

Thanks so much for the kind words of support!! Is there any word about a DC-area posse meet-up? I would love to share ideas any/all ideas about raw fooding-it ( sort of a newbie in this area) as well as some Tolle/energy healing ideas...? Know of anything happening?

Are you enjoying the Power of Now? I found it was slow going for me at the time, I should pull it out again. You might enjoy "The Power of Intention" by Wayne Dyer.
