welcome to the community! looks like we have a few things in common- both 26, both from l.a., and i too was diagnosed with cancer last year...it was leukemia for me. i also lived the typical carefree l.a. life b.c. (before cancer), taking my health for granted with late night parties/drinking/smoking/unhealthy eating habits. i'm glad you found this forum, you'll find that it will help you a lot during your journey. i just wish it was around last year while i was going through chemo and hospitalizations etc. anyway, i wish you all the best. if you ever need to chat, i'm here! xx
I know you are going to find a specialist for you in LA soon. And I can't wait to see your favorite quote and book as well. I have a good friend in my support group at Gilda' Club with brain cancer, too. We are on the East coast, though. Is there a Gilda's Club near you? Great resources and programs for free. Take care. Blessings. Tamara
I have a pretty extensive list of alternative practitioners in California, which I got from a reliable source that I'm pretty sure has looked closely into all of these. It's too many for me to type them all out but is there someplace that I could e-mail them to you at?
I know someone who's brother was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor a few years ago. He quit smoking, started exercising, took a bunch of supplements and took something like 40,000 mg of vitamin C per day (if you're going to do that much, an IV is probably better). Two plus years later, he has no sign of the tumor and is doing really well. Good luck!
