About Me:
The first thing I have to say is that I am glad I went through the whole cancer experience. My life was changed forever by that word. I am now on a journey to places I would never have thought I would find myself. I was diagnosed with an invasive form of cervical cancer in February 2006. By July of the same year, after two surgeries, 6 chemo treatmnts and 28 radiation treatments, I was cancer free!! I am still cancer free and totally plan to remain that way! I claim my victory over the "C" word every day.
As a result of my journey through that disease, I am now studying to become a certified licensed massage therapist. I will graduate in August and from there, I will begin my studies in herbology.I can't wait to incorporate both massage and herbology into one practice so that I can offer health and wholeness to my clients from a totally holistic perspective! At 41, I know that I finally am exactly who I am supposed to be. I'm a healer, a wounded healer, to be exact. I know that I had to walk through the fire in order to find my soul.
I'm so excited to become a part of this community and I really look forward to hearing from other members!

Hey,
We need to find a time to get together and meet. I live in Alpharetta and can't remember where you said you live but we could split the difference.

Hi Lisa!

Thanks -- I'd love to interview you. Would it work for you if I just emailed you or sent you a message on this site with some of the questions I have?

Also, I love your page -- the purple is so and flowers make it so friendly.

Thanks, looking forward to talking with you!

Hi Lisa,
Sorry I haven't responded sooner. I really need to update my profile. I am very new with Reiki but am completely hooked. I have lymphoma and my doctor has put me on a watch and wait. With that being said I have taken the holistic route. I am studying reiki as well. I have gone down a path of enlightenment that I never thought I would be on a year ago. So in some respects Cancer has been a strange gift......................I to am working on becoming a healer. I have discovered I am a empath and I am meant to be a healer. Quite a change from doing accounting. LOL
I would love to chat with you more.

Ciao

Lisa, I sit here and read your "about me" and I am in awe of you and your perspective on life - embracing life and change. Congratulations on your journey well traveled!! And on being cancer-free. You will be such an extraordinary model for your clients in not only healing them via massage and herbology but also due to your own personal journey - knowing who you are is a tremendous insight and one others will strive to find for themselves with your guidance. CONGRATS!! I wish you the best of luck. Thank you for being such an inspiration....

Lots of love,
Kim

Thanks for your comment Lisa! I can very much relate to your story as well. Somehow we sometimes need certain events and forces to free ourselves - again and again... I am German but lived in the US for a little over two years in 1997, went back to Germany and came to Australia over 2 years ago. I love the nature, the freedom and the endless possibilities of life. My cancer was very scary last year and I am still trying to find out what it wanted to tell me - there is so much... but I am confident. And I love to feel that freedom - exactly this feeling of freedom that this pictures expresses - I am so glad you felt it!!!! Congratulations to your wonderful decisions to follow the path of being a healer - for yourself and others!!! Love xxx

Happy belated Easter to you, too! Hope the bunny was good to you! What are you not liking about sports massage? Do not enjoy deep tissue? Just curious. I loved it! I loved the idea of working on people that were so involved with thier bodies and trying to make them work the best they can. I worked with a few professional athletes, and that was very cool...very tiring, but very cool! I have some great assisted, deep stretches that I would do with them. I'd be happy to show you! I've been thinking about practicing again. My only issue was arthritis...my knuckles would swell to the point of bruising. Yuck, but I really enjoyed it! Let me know your sched and we can plan a tea time!
