About Me:: I am a brain cancer survivor (anaplastic astrocytoma) I am a 33 year old wife, mother and daughter.

I am a Christian and believe that my cancer didn't take God by surprise. He wasn't standing in Heaven when He heard the news thinking "Oh Crap! What do I do now?"

I am all about living joyfully, creating lasting memories and laughing at myself at least once a day :)

What's your personal mission statement?: To be the best example I can be for young people with cancer. Cancer does not have to be a death sentence, we have so much to live for, even if we have been given a short time to live, in my case 4-5 years. I am not a statistic, I am Heather George who just happens to have cancer, there is so much more to all of us than this disease.

Nice to meet you!

I havent really lived an exciting life, yet the life i have been blessed with is amazing in my opinion. Ive grown up in church, my father has been in the ministry in all of my memories. I never really knew a life outside of being a pastors daughter, although I do know that I would not have traded it for the world. I am so paranoid about what and what not to eat. I met with my Radiation Oncologist yesterday and they were throwing all sorts of what-not-to's at me. I'm just so confused right now. All this happened so fast. I was suffering from blurred vision and decided to go get it checked out in September and then October 3rd I'm getting ready to have a tumor removed from brain! It's just been so much all at once and my poor husband has been so amazing but I'm afraid that I'm going to tire him out. I'm anxious all the time and I just dont know how to relax my mind. I just keep thinking about this thing inside my head this uninvited guest! How do you relax? Sorry for all the questions all at once. Just need some helpful hints. Thank you and God Bless. Kara

Just came across this group of Christians! Awesome. I am a christian too. I have been battling cancer the last 3and a half years. I am a single mom of two teenagers! I started a NP called Grace Uncharted Cancer Foundation for Single Parents...that was a tough one, battling this alone. But, God is always there and that is what has gotten me through!
