- About Me:
- I am a mother to my beautiful and intelligent 17 month old daughter Snoquoia, and a wife to my most loving and incredible husband Dave. I am a Forester by trade, but currently have had the most awesome experience being a stay at home mommy for the past year!
We finally landed here in the Olympia, WA area and am currently living with my mom, my 84 year old grandmother, along with my hubby and little one in a 850 sqft duplex. (temporary though!)
The universe, Jesus, God, Krishna and Buddha have sure taken care of us! At least we are together! Mom and grandma will be moving into the other side of the duplex in a few days. Normal life will at last return soon....I hope.
What brings me to this site? Well, for starters: Kris Carr. I was fortunate enough to see her documentary on TLC when it first aired and because of her couragous and fantastic attitude for life and survivial I was truly moved.
Cancer has taken a large toll on our family. Two family members lost their fight, one has survived breast cancer TWICE, and I am heartbroken to say that I lost another this past June. Diagnosis came in late February with news of not one, but four different types of cancer and only a six month window of survival. His beautiful wife of 16 years, and a 15 year old daughter along with all of us in the fam are absolutely devestated. My dad especially, as they were like two peas in a pod. Very hard times.
To say that our family is very bitter towards cancer, and fearful as well is an understatement.
We look to this site for inspriation, survival and triumphant stories, and probably to feel "normal" as well. It's good to know we are not alone in this world!

Hiatus over soon I hope!
I everyone!
I've been out for a bit during this huge move from Montana to Washington state. What a mess it has been! We're here, but sadly still not settled. For those of you who didn't know, my husband and I and my little 16 month old have moved to Washington along with my mom and my 84 year old grandmother. Huge move!! Thank you so much for the compliment, you really made my day-or night rather (I'm up late after putting baby to bed). But really after reading your message it fills me with such hope-I too am in that same situation as you were right now. After having my little one my rheumy just wants to see me to help me manage my pain and make sure that the nodules I have in my feel aren't getting too out of control. I'm currently on 15mgs of prednisone a day, which is a HUGE decrease from where I was when I got pregnant. This time last year I was on prednisone AND plaquinil AND pain meds. to control my flares and that's when I found out that I was prego. Presently there really isn't much any medical professional can really offer me (in terms of Western Medicine) so here I am-researching like mad...a student of "the google" lol! I was told late last year that I have a wheat sensitivity so I've been experimenting with that and I'm noticing FABULOUS side effects!!! Whole foods is the way to go for sure!!! And eating raw and juicing makes a BIG difference.
I can't tell you how thankful I am just to know that there are others out there going through similar trials and situations (especially new Moms). Just the fact that you messaged me made me thank God that I'm not alone and there's someone out there who understands. I wish you all the best and hope to see you/talk to you more on the boards!
