About Me:: Like everyone here I'm struggling with a diagnosis of a disease that makes no sense and strikes so indiscriminately. I was diagnosed with melanoma in late May and will be having my second surgery next week with interferon treatments soon to follow (traces of melanoma were found in one of the eight lymph nodes that they removed in my first surgery on my neck earlier this month. As far as staging goes, I don't want to know my specific stage b/c I' don't want stats dictating my attitude). I'm trying so hard to be brave and positive for myself and my loved ones, but dang it's so hard when the future can feel like one big question mark. I really would love to connect with other people out there who are going through this to share information and stories of hope. My phone is filled with the names and numbers of so many wonderful people who have said, "call me anytime day or night if you want to talk - I'm here for you", and as sincere as they are, it's so hard to lean on people who aren't going through this themselves. What say you people on Crazy Sexy Life, can you help a frightened yet determined sister out?

I know how frustrating is it that there are so few options out there and no one is conclusive about whether or not it works. That is my hangup on this whole thing. I just cant seem to figure it out. So far, the shots are not terrible. I have started giving them to myself which I think is better bc I know when its coming and how hard to "jab" myself. And seriously, let me know what I can do to help. I am going through it with you, almost identical times and everything so if you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask.

I have been doing this since 2006 and just wanted to say if you ever need anything, please let me know. I am always available to chat, or to listen, as I know thats important as well. I started interferon on June 4th and was given a two week break which has turned into three weeks :) Its not terrible as of yet, everyone reacts differently.
