My in-laws live in Northville (6 mile/Haggerty area). I'm sure the Dallas/Fort Worth area is great - my husband used to travel a lot for business and says he always enjoyed going there.
I do have what's called a PICC line on my right upper arm, but no port in the tummy. The PICC line allows for IV hook-up into a more prominent vein and for blood/lab draws.
They'll be giving me taxol and carbo. Not sure what doses and I'll receive 6 treatments at 3-4 week intervals.
Thanks again!
Thanks very much for writing back!
I am very confused though: you've mentioned that they operated because the cyst was not changing! I thought the standard thinking is to operate and remove ovaries when the cyst is changing, like becoming a mass or growing to be over 3 cm large. Where was your pain located: in lower right abdomen, where the ovary is located?? What type of pain was that: sharp, "needle like" or dull, constant or just happening on some days??
MY cyst on the right ovary stays the same at about 1.2 cm, does not grow or change and the red doppler shows good blood flow, which is a good thing because its not a solid mass on the ovary.
But I do have pain in that area and in my pelvis several times a week. I am totally confused now; what should I do???
Thanks for listening,
Mary

Welcome to our CSL family!
I see that you were diagnosed with OC: this is an issue that is very close to me at this point. I have lesions and cysts on my ovaries plus many other symptoms yet, I feel the docs for some strange reason just dismiss that! Plus they have told me that early stage ovarian c is very hard to diagnose: ca-125 wont' help, nor an ultrasound, nor cat scan, etc. I am very frustrated, to say the least. May I ask you: how was your oc diagnosed? Was it through an ultrasound or maybe cat scan? I see that many women with oc have a normal level of ca-125, so it cannot be an important measuring tool.
How are you doing now; how do you feel?
Have a nice weekend!
Mary
