About Me:: I am currently a 2 year survivor of metastatic breast cancer.

In Spring 2006, I was 9 weeks pregnant with what would have been my second child and the OB/Gyn found a lump in my right breast. I scheduled with a breast surgeon immediately and soon learned that it was metastatic breast cancer. It had already spread to my bones: skull, spine, ribs & hip. I was informed that in order to save my own life, I had to end the pregnancy and start treatment.

It was the hardest thing for me to deal with ... ever. I am still devestated.

For the last 2+ years, I have had no surgery on my breast. My oncologist has recommended that I remove my ovaries and take Arimidex once daily, and I have. It has made me very achy. I was originally having Zometa once per month and now because I've been taking that for 2 years, I only have it bi-monthly.

My family and friends are supportive and thanks to Kris Carr's 1st book, I decided to stop eating meat. I eat mostly raw vegetables and have been very focused on lowering my CEA. It was 35 and since I've gone veggie, it is now below 3.9!

I still continue to work full-time and raise my now 17 year old son. He has recently started driving and that has given me something to be more nervous about. I am happy for each day I have with him and love watching him grow.

I have signed up here to learn, to make friends, and to find out what other people have been doing to help themselves.

I face the same thing. I think at times it is nice to have something else to focus on aside from the dread I feel (can you say time for anti-depressants??!!)

thank you for joining the breast cancer group. we look forward to your input! i am so sorry for all you have been through. i was diagnosed in 2006, and i am also taking arimidex and i'm having lots of aches. i also have the driving 17 year old son!
