About Me:: Sliding into forty and trying to have a baby. I'm a writer. I love reading, HBO, yoga, and just started NIA dance. After grim news from docs about fertility, I have taken things into my own hands. Kris' website is one of my favorite new sources. My mother died of cancer 20 years ago, most of my five siblings are sick with one thing or another... This is such a lovely place to see how everything can be different..

I have a freind that owns a house in New Orleans. They live in DC but that is their city. They married there with just a few friends.

NYC - hmmm. yes we are planning to start out here. I don't know whether we will stay forever. Brooklyn may feel better if and when we move there. Manhattan is not the city I moved to 16 years ago so, just not interested. Loud, crowded, and less artists and more rich people.feels weird to pass by the village and see only rich designer shops. Its a materialism I just don't share.

My next big production will be in DC in the fall. I am a finalist for a few fellowships here, which will determine a lot of how the next two years of my life goes.

Nice to hear from you. Best of luck on the family thing.

At 9:38pm on June 8, 2008, Rebecca said…: What's new with me...I spent all of May in Mississippi with Jason's family. His father is sadly in the last phase of his journey. He took a turn in April and the hospice nurse didn't think he would last through the week so we rushed down there. He picked up a lot when we got there and we had an amazing month with him. It was just such a special and profound time. Jason is still there. I came back to NY a couple of weeks ago to get some work done. It seems that Grey has really started to slip in the last few days. I think I will be going back down there in the next week.

While we were in MS we decided to move to New Orleans. We just love that city and we're ready for a change. After 12 years in NY, I'm ready for a slower pace - and to start having babies! Jason is going to go to the Social work school at Tulane with the ultimate goal of being a therapist. And I think it will be really important to be close to his mom now. Are you planning to raise your kids in NYC?

Also finishing a film for PBS! 12 more weeks of editing and I should be all wrapped up on a five year project. I'm really happy about that.

Also, a friend and I are hatching a play. I know you are a playwright. Do you have any upcoming shows? I would love to see your work!

Please give us an update tomorrow. I will be thinking of you. I really hope it is good news and if it doesn't happen tomorrow, you will keep working hard and it will pay off I know it!

Are you in NYC now? Isn't this lightning amazing?
