How are you doing? How do you feel?
I have been thinking about you and just want to stop by and say "hello"!
Have a sunny afternoon,
Mary
You have to follow your intuition on the surgery. You can always change your mind. I hope your able to find another gyn-onc that is willing to support you with your decisions. Your family will come around, they are likely acting out of fear.
Way to go on becoming alkaline! You have been working hard at it... good for you!
Hopefully, I've just had my last chemo and I'll find out at the end of the month if I'm all done. I need to get myself back on track with juicing and taking my wheatgrass everyday. Then back to raw vegan once I know for sure that I'm done chemo.
Need to hit the sack now, will reply by email tomorrow.

I see that your online right now and wanted to send you a big hello! I've been wondering how you were doing? Are you doing chemo right now or still waiting for surgery?
Hope your doing well. Take care, my friend.

Thanks so very much for your response. I cannot believe what you went through!! 12 docs just and two years just to get a dx: awful situation! How come they all missed that: it's beyond me! 12 md's could not diagnose it correctly: I am beyond words!
Prior to your surgery, did you also have a CAT scan: did it show anything? I am surprised that pelvic ultra did now show more details other than a "cyst" - but I guess ultrasounds are not as thorough as cat scans or mri's.
How are you doing now? Are you following any specific program? I bet you have found this website very helpful and informative, haven't you? I love this website and it has been sooooo helpful for me and my mother - a true lifesaver.
Have a great evening,
Mary
PS: really like your pics: you have a beautiful family!
I have just come across your blog here: want to say "hi"! I, too, have problems with my ovaries but have a hard time finding a good and caring gyn: it's tougher than I thought! Have lots of symptoms and am worried about the whole situation. May I ask, what kind of symptoms did you have prior to your diagnosis? Any pelvic pain, bloating, indigestion, ovarian pain, etc?
Who first diagnosed your condition: was it a gyn, or onc?
I, too, follow a raw regimen and am juicing daily: it helps a lot! Actually, my mother is doing it, too, so we support each other in getting healthy.
Have a nice Sunday morning!
Mary
At present, I'm buying fresh-frozen, 100% organic wheatgrass juice through my local health food store. It's made by Evergreen. I also have an organic powdered wheatgrass as a back-up made by Pur Elements should I run out of the Evergreen. I haven't tried to grow it yet but that's on my "to do" list. I'm in the market for a new juicer that'll juice the wheatgrass as well. I can't find them locally so I'm probably going to look in the states soon.
I weaned myself off coffee but first limiting myself to 2 a day. I found a really good coffee substitute, caffeine free with all natural products at my local health food store. There is one with mushrooms as well but I can't recall the name. Techinno (?sp) also has some great flavored coffee alternatives, like Vanilla Nut. It smells sooo good and it hits the spot for me. Fortunately, I adore green, white tea, rooibos and herbal teas too which helped for cutting it out. I think coffee was one of my biggest hurdles for cutting my acidic levels to alkaline (or was pre-chemo... but this too shall pass soon!).
When I found out that I was starting to recur, I ate almost 100% raw vegan and juiced a least 2x a day, drank 2-4 oz. wheatgrass at least 2-3 times a day... I was able to knock down my CA-125 to below the normal level prior to my first chemo. It was the greatest confirmation for me ever that Raw Vegan and juicing works! One day, I'll probably blog more about it.
Have you checked out the online support for ovarian cancer group at ACOR? I don't know if the cyber-knife is an option for you for your pancreas but there are some people who have had good success with it.
Have a super day, Kellie! xox
Do you mind if I ask what type of surgery your heading into? Becoming more alkaline will certainly be a huge benefit. For me, I'm eating whatever I can get in as my tastes are so off due to the chemo. But, I don't eat any red meat nor do I drink coffee (that took me almost a year to wean off of considering I was a major coffee-aholic). I'm a big salad and greens fan (when tastes permit). I'm so looking forward to getting myself back on track when I'm done chemo. And oh yes, detox, detox, detox that crap away! Can't wait!
Do you enjoy wheatgrass? It's super good for you and very alkalizing for the body as well as chorella, spirulina, any sea vegetable, etc. I'm sure it's overwhelming to say the least but I'm sure that your going to do just fine with all of this.
Just know that I'm thinking of you across the creek. Hope you had a great July 4th weekend. xox
