wondering how you are doing and how the specialist in san diego was. I hope you found a caring woman you are comfortable with.
Peace,
Laetitia
you have a candle with your name on it on my real altar..virtual one is always burning on-line now...come see. muahs
He works with the UCLA team I believe because the kaiser N.O oncology department has a special relationship with them (maybe because he trained there?)
I can see how he could come off as arrogant or aloof, but I just don't kow.
Everyone's experience with any specific professional, especially when it comes to someone dealing with our BRAIN is different.
The couple I know who also sees doctor Green has the main practitioner at kaiser sunset that I used to have and are very happy with her. Interestingly I felt she let me down during my post operation struggle (long story you can read it on the brain tumor group posts) and I switched, I now have a main practitioner in Pasadena I am happy with...Same doctor different experiences.
I also filed a complaint with kaiser for different reasons and I need to follow up with it.
glad you are feeling good.
As far as I know he is the only neuro oncologist at kaiser Sunset but there are other kaisers.
I completely agree with you about Emily, I think she is arrogant and unprofessional.
However I have to say that I am very happy with doctor Green.
He works closely with doctor cloughessy (probably wrong spelling) well respected N.O at UCLA with whom he trained.
The few times I called him directly he called me back right away and when I had a problem in France this summer he e.ailed me back right away.
I feel that he is honest with me about my condition and my current treatment, ( I am on avastin every other week for a pylocitic astrocytoma after a year of temodar and 6 weeks before that of radiation.)
He acknowledges that we are on uncharted territory with my type of tumor and the treatment plan and doesn't pretend to know what he doesn't know.
My first impression of him was of a very caring person however I was not happy dealing with Emily at all and not so happy when he had me first on radiation then on chemo and avastin at the first sign of growth of my supposedly next best thing to to benign tumor... We did get second and third opinions however that concurred with his recommendations but did not even try to get reimbursed by Kaiser (good luck with that)
I also know someone who has a GBM and just had a recurrence, he is being wonderful, working with him and coordinating care plan with the team from UCLA.
I hope that helps.
I am curious to know what type of tumor you had and what your treatment is and would be happy to share anything else that might help you.
Peace,
Laetitia
