About Me:
I am the mother of a beautiful and wild ten year old girl...I am an artist and I am queer and I one day in april had a very bad stomach ache that eventually within days brought me in to urgent care only to be admitted for what was diagnosed after big surgery as ovarian cancer stage 1c....and so now it begins...now...my crazy sexy cancer chapter. A dear friend brought my Kris's dvd and now I dont feel alone and am infused with hope and ideas...I love the green and living food and the wonderful community.
I am going on the fourth round of chemo and considering stopping there.
I am doing misiltoe injections and chinese herbs.

Thanks for your comment! I would love to have a Portland posse. What a story is yours, wow. I am just about to go on a 2 week cleanse, working on the Ph balance in the body. I am sorry your Kaiser experience has not been good. I have been so, so happy with OHSU. Good treatment from happy, loving people is such a blessing. Are you also seeing a Chinese doc? I have one I can recommend, who has a specialty in cancer, with herbs and acupuncture.

Hi Eman,
Just wanted to say "hi" and ask how are you feeling?
I, too, have problems with my ovaries, my CA-125 is elevated, have on and off pelvic pain, have other symptoms that are common in ovarian cancer patients (feeling full very soon, bloating, sometimes constipation, etc) yet, my two gyn's thus far have been ignoring the symptoms, to my distress!
Have you had any symptoms prior to your diagnosis? Also, how did they diagnose your ovarian c: with the ultrasound or a cat scan?? The md's have told me its awfully hard to diagnose stage one of oc: it's great that they have discovererd it at stage one!!

How's your CA-125 been doing relative to the treatments...has it gone down? I'm sure all the alternative stuff & greens you're doing is helping minimize the side effects, and in the big picture I think will serve you well. You might consider some L-Glutamine or SeaCure for the stomach/intestinal effects of the chemo...it helps rebuild the mucosal lining which gets zapped along with the cancer cells as one of those fast growing type cells. Ginger also helpful. It is a harsh protocol, but often quite effective for your stage, in terms of traditional approach. I have heard people on both sides doing 4 & doing 6...guess you'll have to see how things look & use your intution.

Best of luck on the next round! Hang in there...you'll be done before you know it, whichever path you take!

I'm SO glad to hear you have Stage 1 vs later. It ALL is a life changer & I'm sure doesn't lessen all that you are going thru...just glad it's earlier.

Are you doing the full regular chemo (Taxol/Carbo) or IPT? I looked at mistletoe, but didn't do it...it will be interesting to see how that fits in your mix of stuff....hope it's all good. Looks like you're on a good healing path. All the best.
