Congratulations on your new baby! I am so happy for you! Thanks for sharing your story in the documentary as well. It was such a help to hear about someone (and see them with my own eyes) going through the same things I am going through. I don't hear a lot of "Hodgkin's" stories (which is really a good thing right?).

Again, congratulations! :)

Thanks Melissa, there is no one better than someone who has been there and done that! My doc put me on prednisone last Friday and let me tell ya, it works so much better then the inhaler he gave me the week before. Good news is I don't have pnumonia, but I failed my pulmonary function test so they couldn't get a good enough reading. They did say my lungs appeared swollen in the x-ray though. I never knew lungs could get swollen, hahaha! The prednisone makes me sleep all day which is weird to me cause I was warned that it may make me not want to sleep. So I don't know if its just my body needing to rest or some kind of goofy side affect for me. But it has stimulated my appetite some and now I eat a little more.
Hugs & prayers!

Hi Melissa, I hope this finds you well! Since our situations were so similar, I was wanting to ask you something about how was your appetite after your stc? I'm on day 63 of mine and its still not back. I don't get hungry at all and force myself to eat. My oncologist says I'm right where I should be and it does take a while, but I thought that by this time I would of been more hungry. Does that make sense?

OMG!! Congratulations, what wonderful news! I'm sure the new baby will be just as cute as your son (what a cutie he is!) But for me, it did put me into menopause. I had my hormone levels checked and they are consistent with a woman in menopause, but I'm ok with that. I have 2 kids already. My son is 14 and my daughter is 11 (12 in June), and I had a tough pregnancy with her. I was on bedrest the whole pregnancy and was told all kinds of horrible things that may happen. None of them did. She was born small, and she is still 'petite', but let me tell you, that's the only thing small about her, hahaha! Needless to say, I could not risk another pregnancy being on bedrest and trying to raise the kids I already have. But I still get my fill of taking care of babies, I'm a nanny for a family who has been with me for 11 years.
Hugs & Prayers!

Thank you. That is nice of you to here. I am due with my second baby in August. The transplant did not leave me infertile. Just thought you might like to know that!

Hi Melissa,
I am so glad I found you here. Out of all the gals in Kris' documentary, I relate to you the most cause our situations were similar. I am currently on day 44 of my stem cell transplant. I am also a Hodgkin's survivor, twice over.
Hugs & Prayers!

I have ran across it but haven't found the time yet to sit down and read it! There were a few parts in the book that made me laugh so hard I cried. Like when she was attempting to give her first needle and your mom was getting the camera to take a picture... lol even now I'm giggling. Sounds like an awesome, crazy family to be apart of. How is your little guy? Getting much bigger I see!

Hey Melissa! I was looking at all the members and then I saw your name and thought "I know that name!" Well, I just finished reading your sisters book, THATS why I know that name! How are you doing??
