What's your personal mission statement?: I believe in treating others the way I'd like to be treated. I think manners are a necessity, and a friendly smile can diffuse even the most tense or unhappy situation. I study oncology, especially women's cancers and pediatric cancers. My goal is to make the world a little better by the time I leave than it was when I came into it.

So I've got a friend coming to visit for a week and since you were in nyc for a while maybe doing touristy stuff -- do you have any recommendations for something fun to do? I barely go into manhattan to do stuff!

It's really great to hear from someone in the field who is passionate about their work. I think there are a lot of people like that, who aren't in the cancer "business" for the money, because really there isn't a lot of money that I can see for practitioners and researchers, and it's good to hear one speak up about their passion.

I also think it's good that people are looking proactively at lifestyle changes that can be beneficial to them, but I think it's important to have quality information to work from as well. I see we enjoy a few of the same books, and I love the quotes on your page.

I'm doing well. I'm just finishing up my last paper of the summer and I'll have a little break before the craziness of the fall starts. I can't believe it's gonna be fall soon :(
