I just saw your comment about the aches and pains. They are soooo a normal part of this process. Try to not get too stressed out about them. I had (and still have) weird pains in the other breast but after 2 mammograms, and MRI and a recent CT scan, all of which show absolutely nothing there, I've finally stopped stressing about it. It took all that for me to stop though, so I know how you feel!

Some of the aches and pains caused by taxotere or taxol can really be helped with glutamine though. Your onc seems pretty open - maybe discuss it with him.

A rebounder is a mini-trampoline. It helps lymph fluids move through your system. One thing I learned recently is that your lymph system actually has more fluid in it than your cardiovascular system, but it doesn't come with it's own pump (the heart). It completely depends on the movement of your body to move fluid through.

I had 2 separate incidents with cording - the first one was just one cord and required several visits to the therapist. The second was like 3 cords at once and required about 2 months of regular visits to the therapists. In the 3-4 months I've have the rebounder I haven't had one problem. My arm feels lighter even and some swelling in my index finger and thumb which was there for months is almost completely gone. I've even stopped wearing my sleeve for flying and working out and still no problem.

I'm so glad you found a good oncologist who believes in supplements. I hope he had you taking CoQ10 if you were getting Adriamycin. It protects from the heart damage. Also, if you find you have any issues with neuropathy, glutamine powder worked really well for me. It also prevents mouth sores.

One more to go! Yay! Your're almost done with all this.

Hi,

How are you doing? If you were just diagnosed in May, I assume you're in the middle of chemo. Are you getting the ACT therapy? That's what I got. Where are you being treated? I went to the Cancer Treatment Center in Zion IL so I had the benefit of also working with naturopaths to protect me from some of the chemo damage. I know a lot of docs say not to take supplements during chemo but CTCA seems to know what they are doing. I've done a lot of research and there are many who believe that certain antioxidant no only don't weaken the chemo, but they help it kill cancer cells.

I was stage II also - 3 of 21 nodes positive. How many did you have? I was having some problems with my arm (with some "cording" in lymph vessels) for many months but it all stopped when I got a rebounder. I highly recommend it.

I'm sorry that you had to go through this, especially at such a young age. I was diagnosed when I was 42 and I thought I was way to young. I really feel for you. It was like I felt betrayed by my body that I had taken such good care of.

Let me know how you're doing!
Kris
