About Me:
Hi, I'm an Ovarian Cancer Warrior, Stage IIIc vs IV, diagnosed March 2006 (age 44). I had 6 rounds of Taxol and Carboplatin. I'd like to say that I breezed through the chemo and that it was a piece of cake but...I did get better with the chemo (in some ways)!!! HA, I had daily nausea for 1-1/2 years. I finally started on some Ginger capsules and this was a God-send for me. The chemo brain that I experienced was terribly distressing for me and maybe the worst part once the chemo was all done, I think?!? My brain cells are getting better and better each day! I'm almost back to normal, whatever that is?! LOL!

Now, I'm waiting to restart chemo for a recurrence. This was caught in the early stages this time. I'm bummed to say the least but I'm dealing with it, day by day. I was waiting to return back to work to go 100% raw but this certainly got my mo-jo going. Silly me, I know.

I'm also a major needle phobic kind of gal, who is also a Nurse. Yeppers, that's right and I'm proud of my chicken qualities!

I can say one thing for cancer...it has changed my every moment...I truly just love everything. The universe is amazing filled with so many beautiful people. I have to go in for a colostomy and more surgery on my pancreas(more cancer). I thought losing my hair was bad. I'm having a real problem with this. I never thought I was vain but I feel as if this will make me a completely different person. I know I will get through this too. It is a mind set. I know what you mean about the coffee. That is my hurdle right now. I do wheatgrass shots everyday by want to find a place so I can juice my owe. Tried growing it with no luck. Any advice on a source. I'm eating all the nightshade greens I can. Capri Diem.

I love your mission statement. I also, really understand it. Last year when I was really sick, and all the dysfunctions that was going on with people, I would visualize sweeping them out of my house. I can only have emotionally healthy people in my life:)
Have you ever thought of having a picc line in....now more needles your your arm....I'm a big babby over needles also, The picc line for me was a breeze. Just a thought:)

Hi Jacki.
It was my pleasure! I'm so glad that we met, even though it was over a dripping bag of 'the good stuff'.

You are doing GREAT! What an inspiration you are. I have tremendous admiration for you. You too are dealing with all the cancer-crap, in addition to so much else, extremely well.

I'll be mailing you a little "Miso starter kit" this weekend, along with some mushrooms and some recipes so don't run out and buy the stuff yet. I may need to rethink the mailing of miso because it should be refrigerated... but let me check into that.

My appointment at LRCC went well today. No new signs of disease progression. There are some "hazy areas" in the liver that correspond between all three imaging tests, but it is inconclusive. I'm having another batch of tests in 4 months to see if anything has changed. So that is GREAT news as far as I'm concerned!!!

I'll be in touch again soon.

Well now I'm so glad I fixed that typo on my page. I also need reminding myself on a regular basis, and this is certainly the place to get reminded. Several people have asked me about the Living Foods Institute, so I'm going to go right ahead and blog about it, and i have photos too to upload, watch this space...
