About Me:: 32 yrs old with a husband and beautiful 3 yr daughter. Diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma Stage 2 in March and currently receiving chemotheraphy. It is going well and heading towards remission. I would like to learn more about the diet that kris talked about on Oprah.

I am so excited to be finished and feeling better. My hair is finally starting to come in, just in time for the cold weather. No, that is not my baby, that is my most precious and perfect little niece. Lily is my younger brother's 7 month old baby. She is my sunshine!! Isn't she a cutie?? I am glad to hear that things are going well for you. I will continue to keep you in my prayers. Keep in touch!! hugs to you, Lea

I am finally back to full - time mom and I really feel great. So far my follow-ups have been perfect! No pneumonitis in my lungs from the radiation either, so that's good. Do you have any follow-ups coming up? How are you doing at work? Thinking of you and hoping you are doing well!

At 11:36pm on October 2, 2008, Lea said…: Well, the tattoo is like the maker but permanent. It is only a small mark but it feels like a giant neon sign pointing to my tumor saying,"look at me, here I am" but I know it is because they have "cutting edge" haha technology here in Seattle and give little tattoos for pinpoint precision and accuracy for the radiation.

I am not back at work yet but I am gonna try some part time stuff in the office during my radiation treatments. I am glad you are doing better. Gives me positive energy!!! Hugs to you!!! lea

I have had a really hard week dealing with some depression issues. I really didn't like them putting a tattoo on my chest so I will be able to see it everyday for the rest of my life. But I guess if it saves my life that is all that matters. I hope you are well. Take care, lea

At 10:20pm on September 27, 2008, Lexy said…: That's great that you are headed back to work, even part time. You have to slowly work your way back into it. Everything seems back to normal for me now. I feel healthy, I feel well. With my hair I was used to having long wavy dark hair so this short hair is a big change for me - but I like it!
So, did you do 20 rounds of radiation? What is up next? Do they want to do a follow-up scan? My doctor wants to do another scan in January. I saw him once two weeks ago, and then I see him again in November for a check-up and blood work.
Isn't it nice to be done with treatment and move on with life?!?!

are you back to work yet? how are things going? I think you should be done your radiation now... I finally took off the wig! My hair has grown in quite a bit - my new look is the Posh Spice pixie cut! It is growing on me! How have you been feeling these days?

At 1:58pm on September 4, 2008, Lea said…: Well, how is the radiation going? I am finally all finished with my chemo!! The mass was about the size of my fist. As of July 2 the mass had decreased by more than half so that's good. Are you working? I haven't worked at all during the chemo and I am looking forward to going back to work but I am not sure if I will be able too if I am having radiation. My job is just so demanding, do you work?

At 2:21pm on August 30, 2008, Lexy said…: Hi Julie! Yes, my hair is growing back really quickly. It seems the same as it was. Really thick and dark. I am not sure if it will be wavy like before or not. I should be able to tell soon. The mass in my chest was about 13 cm. it was large and covered more of the left side of my chest. After I finished my R-CHOP, I had a scan done and it was clearly almost gone. There was some scar tissue remaining and within that scar tissue the doc felt that there was still some tumor uptake. So, he decided to proceed with some more chemo. That's when I did two rounds of R-ICE. AFter that my scan showed significant reduction of the scar tissue and NO activity. So, that's when I proceeded to radiation. Radiation, he felt, would just complete treatment for any rogue cells still left in the area where my tumor once was. My radiation oncologist was very impressed with the results of my last scan (the one after the R-ICE) in comparison to my scan after the R-CHOP. So, hopefully, that means good news! It is interesting how different docs treating the same disease in the same location have different theories about the course of action. I have my first post-treatment follow-ups coming up soon. Anxious but very excited to be done with treatment! Keep me posted on how treatment is going!
