Thanks for writing back: I am very glad that you are doing OK, following a healthy lifestyle and taking supplements: most of the supplements we know, since me and my mother have been taking them (or were taking). You are right: Gerson is awesome, although its a very demanding and strict program, but then again, anything worthwhile is never easy!
Have you read Kriss Carr's book? I have read it a few weeks ago and it was a very special experience for me! Kris is awesome and her courage and strength is helping both of us, me and my mother.
Please keep up your healing program and do let me know how your healing process is coming along!
Have a blessed evening,: )
Mary
Just want to say "hi" and ask how are you doing?
I admire your courage and determination to use alternative methods and to have a healthy diet. Thanks to this website, me and my mother have learned a great deal about healthy lifestyle, Gerson program, and other fascinating "stuff". My mom is 83 and Gerson has been a lifesaver for her. We are very strong believers in alternative healing methods.
Please let us know how are you doing and are you following any specific food plan or program?
Have a nice evening,
Mary
To be honest, it was good to hear from both sides, and yes, my mom did decide on doing the chemo. Here's how it played out: She was still hesitant on doing chemo and had a plan to ask her oncologist if she can wait a little bit more. Can she wait till it grows a little more? Maybe it is done growing. Maybe on the next pet/ct scan it won't show growth. That was her plan, wait until the last minute until she MUST or HAD to do chemo. Of course, doctors are good at convincing. When she saw the doc, he asked back, when is too late? When the tumor is 1cm bigger? 2cm bigger? Also, you want to have chemo now because as the cancer grows it'll be more resistant to the chemo. Right there and then, my mom knew she had to do it. Also, she DID she a natural doctor and on some weird twist of fate, the next day I read a report on natural doctors/loopholes and they even talked about one of the natural doctors she was going to see but was too busy. It reported that the problem with natural doctors is that some things that can be cure of antibiotics, they will instead suggest this or that. Even how some patients died with natural doctors, yet they never lose their license because well, the standards aren't strict like MD's. However I wouldn't say it was all bad, we came to them like a nutritionalist, what to eat/drink because western doctors nurses just tell me to "go to mcdonalds to get your mom lunch for chemo". So extreme on BOTH sides is not our route, maybe for some, but not my mom.
The question I have NOW is that how did people react to chemo and what helps?? My mom had her first chemo last wed, felt fine wed night, thur and fri, and never had to take nausea pills because she never felt she had to. Then Sat morning at 2am she went to the bathroom, she had a little constipation and when she did go, it wasn't easy. She then walked back to her bed and fainted and hit the ground. Her eyes were zoned out and she came to a couple seconds later. She then threw up lots of water and went back to sleep 3 hours later. It was now 6am and she couldn't go to the bathroom herself and my dad helped her and on the toilet she fainted again and felt dizzy again. More vomiting and chest pain and we called 911 and took her to the ER. They couldn't find her veins for 40 min and she was kicking and yelling for water cause she felt dehydrated/chest pains. Finally they had a special team find her veins and put her to an IV and in 1 minute, she felt back to normal. They made her stay longer because her white blood cells were low and they did find an infection which they gave her antibiotics. She stayed for 5 days, 4 in Intensive care and 1 in just the normal rooms. She is home now (4 days after release) and feels fine again.
Anyone have similar stories or suggestions while on chemo? I think she fainted because 1. her drugs/steroids/nuseau injection wore off and hit all at once. 2. maybe dehydrated? and add constipation and going number 2, you lose oxygen to your brain (this happend to my grandpa 2 months earlier after he went number 2!!)
But yea, any suggestion while on chemo, food, dehydration, taking ensure/boost, whatever please let me know!! Thank you so much!!
Gina
