About Me:
I am a 34yr old mother of 3 beautiful children two boys and a girl. I Just found out 8/21/08 I have an Islet tumor in the neck of my pancreas. I don't know much about this or what surgery options I have yet but, I have been reading alot. I would like to hear from others who have this same diagnoses so I can learn more from them and to let others know that they are not alone ..... My thoughts and prayers are with everyone..

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day,I thank You for my being able to
see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving
God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep
on blessing me.

Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that
was not pleasing to you.

I ask now for Your forgiveness.

Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day
with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.

Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I
can hear from You. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things.

Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over.
And give
me the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.

I know that when I can't pray,You listen to my heart.

Continue to use me to do Your will.

Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others.

Keep me strong that I may help the weak...Keep me uplifted that I may
have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those that are lost
and can't find their way.

I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those
who don't know You intimately.
I pray for those that read this prayer will pass in to others.
I thank You that I believe that God changes people and God changes
things.

I pray for all my sisters and brothers.

For each and every family member in their households.

I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes; that they are out of
debt and all their needs are met.

I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem,
circumstance,or situation greater than God.

Every battle is in Your hands Lord for You to fight.
I pray that these words be received into the hearts of everyone who read this prayer In Jesus name I pray Amen.

Hi there Gina,

Just checking in to see how you are doing now that you've been home for awhile. How is your pain? Level of fatigue? I suppose you have a follow up appointment soon.

I'm so pleased to hear that they were able to remove all of the cancer- this is the best scenario we can all hope for. Wonderful, wonderful news.

We (my family and I) are wishing you and your family all the best that life has to offer you.

Sincerely and with support and encouragement,

Laurie/Nephradite

K! I'll give you a call when I get home tonight or on my next break. I'm doing a 12hr day today (yuck!) and had my Schnauzer put to sleep yesterday and then my 4yr old was up screaming from a earache at 0200 (been up since then) so I'm about to fall out of my chair here. Yes, things will get better and together we're going to beat this. Infact, I'm going to order you a "Fuck Cancer" hat when I get myself one. I'll wear it out in public and if it offends people well you know what they can do. Infact, I'll tell them "Hey, this hat can't offend you anymore than the cancer offended me so that makes us even." Getting to cold up this way (Va Beach) to dance naked around the cherry tree so I'll have to do it in circles on my bed! LOL!
Love ya!

I'm sooooooooooooooooo glad your surgery went well. I just sent you this monster long message but for whatever reason it wouldn't take, grrrrrrrrr. If you ever need to talk about it (we had the samething going on and sounds like the same surgery) just email me at home (gebsdolly@aol.com) and I'll send you my cell number. I'd love to talk to you!
Hugs,
Linda in VA
PS.Get off the computer and get some rest!

Ah....the dreaded NG tube....yes, I had to have that as well. I think the worst part of that was having it shoved down your throat while you are awake! ICK! So glad to hear that surgery went well. I pray that they got the bulk of it out of your system. Recovery is a slow process - don't push yourself. YAY! I am just so happy you are home! -dm

Hi Gina,

I hope your surgery went well. As you know, I'm just down the road from you in Chapel Hill. Crazy, windy, warm weather we're having today! (Whenever I check the weather, I look at what it's doing in Greensboro and then add an hour for it to get here.) I felt kinda crappy today and didn't get out of bed myself, so I've been watching the leaves fly off the trees. Let us know how you're doing when you get a chance.

I am and will be praying for successful surgery and for peace and healing. It is exciting to me that you have the option of having your cancer removed. I am so glad that you caught it early. I pray they get it all and that you remain cancer-free. How long do you expect to be in the hospital?
