Profile Information

About Me:
I'm 30 yrs old I have the world's greatest husband, best friend & partner in crime named Javier. We've only been married for a little over two years now... he's the icing on my cake & my Rock for sure!!! I absolutely Love him to pieces, and I'm a better person for having him in my life.

We initially found out Javier might have lung cancer via a chest CT scan on July 14, 08... we got the Non-Small Cell lc diagnosis on July 25. On that same day, we found out the PET scan revealed some mets in the bones. He's only 35 yrs old, and has never smoked in his life. Although 7/25/08 now marks one of the darkest days of our lives... it also gave birth to a purpose... the purpose & the greatest will to LIVE. Javier has rejected traditional/orthodox treatment (NO Chemo or Rads)... going a la natural 100% baby. We recently completed a 2 week stint at La Clinica Ingles in Tijuana. Came back feeling more confident in our decision to go this route. Everyday has it's ups and downs, but it's all part of going through the healing journey.
We are both feeling confident & 100% trusting in God... He Can and WILL pull us through. My personal mission is helping my Soul Mate & best friend fight canser off and make it our Bitch.. hehe

I pray for US and all of you out there... and for the millions of people across the world suffering from all chronic illnesses. May God enlighten us all with peace & strength to battle what lies ahead for all of us.

Food for thought...

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." ~ Emerson

Sing Your Life

Hello my CSL family... So... music for both Javier and I has always been something we've bonded over. We love all kinds of music. I swear my iPod is schizo... We'd been feeling a little down in the dumps the last few days. Today though, we both felt refreshed & renewed... with new vigor to keep on with this fight & our healing journey. Today of all days, I know it's not a coincidence I heard this song... Sing Your Life by Morrissey. Javier and I are both huge fans (since we were kids).… Continue

Helpful article :) Mind-body connection and healing

http://www.vitalitymagazine.com/node/270 Good morning everyone, My sister-in-law just forwarded this link/article to me and I thought I'd pass it along. Here are some good quotes that helped me find some comfort & hope it helps you guys too: "Homeopathy can help in all stages of cancer. If you choose to employ the conventional treatment methods of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, homeopathy can help alleviate the pains, discomforts and fears associated with surgery, as well as the side… Continue

Reyna, Thanks so much for the information on the two hospitals you're husband is utilizing. I have osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Ironically, it is not mentioned as being treated at the center your husband is currently at. My cancer has metastasized to my lung, so I'm looking for both conventional and alternative approaches to increase my chances of survival. You have been a great help.

Thanks!

This is what I shared with her.....

Here is how I start my day everyday..... (from juicefeasting.com)

Once your feet hit the floor, the first thing you should be looking for (other than the toilet if you need to pee) is WATER.

Start every day with one quart of water with 1/2 lemon squeezed in, and between 1/2 tsp and 2 Tablespoons of MSM powder, depending on what your tolerance is (the way to know is by taste and whether you get the runs... MSM has no toxicity level, however, so there are no worries other than the runs...)

Why water? We are 90% water when we are born, and by the time most of us die, we are about 50-60% water. As we dehydrate, our tissues become toxic and stiffen. Nutrients are not properly assimilated, and toxic matter does not leave our cells and lymphatic fluid in a timely manner. Our blood thickens. Brain function is compromised. Do you know what a hangover is? Dehydration. Most westerners are dehydrated every day of their lives, waking up agitated and groggy, and thinking that another dehydrating agent, coffee, is going to get them going. It will only kick you further down. Water is your best energizer in the morning, and that is why we are training you now to develop as a life practice drinking 1 quart of water each morning. Drinking water will wake up your mind, hydrate your tissues (reducing chronic pain), and some water will go down to your bowel to help you eliminate the waste matter accumulated during the night, so that you do not carry it around during the day and re-assimilate old fecal material back into your system, giving you more problems... This is something you will learn much more about on Days 33 and 34 of the Juice Feasting Program.

Now, in that quart of water you are adding another hydrator, lemon juice. Citrus is a hydrogen concentrator, and the element hydrogen hydrates. Lemon is also fairly high in Vitamin C, and that brings us to our next morning water element, MSM.

MSM is a sulfur compound, and sulfur is the third most prevalent mineral in the body. It just so happens that MSM breaks up scar tissue, reduces inflammation better than any anti-inflammatory drug out there, and has no side effects (other than the runs if you take more than your body knows how to use). A therapeutic amount of MSM is over 3 Tablespoons a day, but for most of us, the body will need to learn how to use MSM before we can reach that amount.

MSM is potentiated, or made more bioavailable (and therefore effective) in your body, when combined with Vitamin C. Also, the lemon in your water will soften the taste of the MSM, which will take a few days to get used to. Just start with a low amount as mentioned above, and move up as your body and tastebuds adjust.

This is a life practice that you are developing: 1 Quart of water, 1/2 Lemon, and 1 Tablespoon of MSM.

Wow, you guys are an inspiration!!! While my husband does take chemo and an oral chemo pill we also see a Naturopath. We believe that the natural, wholistic things that he does make all the difference. Exercise is important not strenuous exercise but stuff like T'ai Chi or Qui Gong and walking. We have had some great moments walking together. It is great us time. Since you are in CA that should be easy. We used to live in West Los Angeles about 4 minutes from Venice Beach. We miss it very much. I especially miss the ocean which I truely believe has healing powers. We left to move back to Kansas City to help out with my oldest sister and her 2 sons. She had Cancer and passed and I helped out with getting the youngest settled and stuff. He is doing great. That was back in 2000. We went back to LA last spring for the first time since we left and I cried when I got on the plane to leave. Take advantage of the wealth of natural wholistic practictioners that are out there and the ocean and sunshine and great healthy food. I do not know where Bell is but my husband went to a wonderful massage thearapist at a wholistic health center specializing in Chinese Medicine and practices in Santa Monica on Main Street when we were there last Spring.
Best of wishes to you both,
