About Me:: My name is Irene. I live in Sunny California. I was diagnosed with Stage II Breast Cancer in 2006 just nine months after my younger sister was! I had a double mastectomy and 8 rounds of chemo. Still in the process of my reconstruction. I am currently in remission. Read my blog to read more about me.

At 6:30pm on April 1, 2008, marla said…: you are amazing, and your sister too - you guys have really been through it. were you the first to be genetically tested? i had my ovaries removed a month after i finished chemo. no waiting for more cancer. . . and you are right, surgery is nothing compared to chemo and it's side effects. hopefully by the time our daughters are old enough to have to deal with all this, some sort of cure will be found. thanks for inviting me to be your friend.
