About Me:: I'm Laura, a stay at home mama to one living son, Jack(2yrs old)...previously worked as an RN in hospitals. I was sent to Kris and this amazing movement by God's intervention. A few months back I was pregnant and saw Kris on Oprah. I felt the strong urge to read/see more about her, despite the fact that I was "healthy" and don't have any relatives fighting kanser. On March 18, 2008 I gave birth to my beautiful son, Colton Clark, via a scheduled C-section. He was full term and beautiful and appeared "healthy" and vibrant for the first 30 minutes of his precious life. Within 24 hours my perfect 8lb9oz baby was gone. Colton died due to metabolic acidosis. He is still a MEDICAL MYSTERY, as no one can explain why he developed acidosis and bradycardia. He passed on while being rocked in my arms. So, here I am with a huge gaping hole wondering what happened. In the last couple weeks I have felt such a pull to this site that it can no longer be denied. I struggle daily to answer all the "why's" and of course I question everything I did/thought/ate during the pregnancy. All I know is that even if I did nothing to "cause" Colton's death, it can't hurt to improve my diet/health/spirit. I know it will make Colton proud.

Oh my heart goes out to you one million times over. Moms and Dads are NEVER supposed to bury their children -- it should be the other way around. There's no way for any of us to understand just how hard it is to say good-bye to your own sweet baby.

I understand that it is impossible not to look for blame. I'm sure you've gone over every detail of your pregnancy and birth in excruciating detail. How awful it is, but true, that sometimes we just never know. And please don't blame yourself.

I see you are also Jack's Mama. I'm so glad. Can we please see some pictures of you with him? I know that right now the pain of losing Colton is simply overwhelming, but with time you'll gain more and more solace from the presence of Jack.
