And I work as a scientist, do a lot of quantitative stuff (modeling, statistics, etc.) that uses equations, so it's just saying let things be as they are (I think). The name of the album this comes off of is Big Science. She really does great stuff - you might want to google and check out some of her lyrics.

I grew up in Alabama too and have spent a lot of time in Atlanta and other parts of GA - definately a southerner as I went to school in TN and lived there for geez, I guess close to 21 years counting college.

You know, you were the only one who said that you were mourning your breast. Isn't it interesting how many women just have one or both taken off and seem to be okay with it?

I thought I was that way too, until I realized that I will miss my form, and besides I just don't know about the one-eyed jack thing. Anyway, what is next for me is a lumpectomy and then we will go from there. (I hope I don't sound vain, I think it's got more to do with body balance or wholeness or something for me).

Please let me know when your mastectomy is and I will be thinking about you and will be standing right here for you with thoughts, prayers and great energies.

At 4:02pm on May 29, 2008, DeeDee said…: I didn't have radiation. I only had the cancer in 1 sentinel node and the 1st lymph node after that. So out of 15 lymph nodes removed, I only had 2 involved. I was a stage II. I also did not have Hers receptors. So, I didn't need the herceptin. I only had estrogen and progesterone receptors in the cancer. So, next I will be having a full hysterectomy, probably in late June or early July. I'm glad you only have 1 more chemo treatment left. That's a good feeling. I've talked with several ladies who had radiation too. They said they were able to work during their radiation treatments until the very last couple of treatments. It was very tender from the burns of radiation. If your oncologist recommends it, I would definitely do it. I know that they too had to wait on reconstruction until after the radiation treatments. My belly fat was enough to get a size C cup on both sides. I WAS a D cup before. I was glad to go down in size. I did not have a lot of belly fat in my own opinion, but still had enough for the DIEP surgery. You might want to seek a 2nd opinion on that. There is also a I-Gap or S-Gap surgery which is the same as the DIEP in that they only use the fat, skin and blood vessels to recreate the breast mounds, BUT...the fat comes from the lower part of the butt on the I-Gap and the upper part of the butt for the S-Gap. You could check those options too.

I was just reading about Jennifer Willey who has Hodgkins Lymphoma and is NOT doing good. She's at home with Hospice now. She was only 25 when 1st diagnosed 3 years ago. Ya know, we think we've got it bad, but when you read her story, there is absolutely NO comparison! I thank my lucky stars that this is all that God allowed for me. Jenn's site is on this Crazy Sexy Cancer site. You should check it out and say a prayer for her. What a tough cookie.

I am healing nicely. I went to my Oncologist yesterday and he wants to start me on Tamoxifen in 1 month. I will be having my hysterectomy 1st.
