At 1:55pm on December 1, 2008, Linda Ann said…: My niece, who is a home healthcare nurse, visits patients in the Ford Heights Area of Illinois, one of the most impoverished places in Illinois and possibly the US. Anyway, many of the patient’s welfare/medicare does not last the month, they run out of food. She told me many of her patients barely have condiments in the fridge at the end of month, empty fridges and cupboards
My niece is also a Girl Scout leader, so this year, for Christmas project in the spirit of giving, the scouts are going to make food baskets for these forgotten elderly. It is amazing this day and ages that anyone, especially our elderly go without food. Anyway, I thought you were looking for ideas on the holiday to bring the season to light; I’d share this with you.
My children’s high school had sponsored “needy” families that came to school in their Big NEW luxury cars and fancy clothes to pick up the “ goods”. My children were so turned off by this; they have looked for other ways to spread the love. I think my niece may just have the answer for them.
The people who need help the most, almost always never ask for help, they just try to figure it out themselves.

God help they are gonna need one big spray brush to cover the flaws and hopefully they can trim the cheeks.. ahaha.. What a ridiculous day... I hope you are happy and not feeling the lonelies.. I know it has been so lonely here. I have been working but the phone and computer dont sub for just the smiles I get from seeing your face.. Hope all is well. Sending you a happy dance and a hug. Vivian and I hibernate with movies in the winter. What do you do? I am looking for someplace to swim, no YMCA for towns. My kids said it would be cheaper to rent a room at the HI than join a gym. LOL
