About Me:: In 2001 I was diagnosed with breast cancer only 7 years after my husband was killed in a car accident. As I wondered what joke the gods were playing on me I didn't realize what it was teaching me. In October 2006 my first memoir "Breastless in the City" was published. It is about my experience as a young widow, diagnosed at 31 with bc, going through treatment all while looking for love in cyberspace. There is a happy beginning to my story. I found love again during my chemo while I was bald and boobless! We met online only a month after his mother died of breast cancer. We have been married for almost 5 years! I wanted to share my story to inspire other young adults with cancer to know that they can find a happy beginning too even in their darkest hour. I believe all that I have gone through has changed me and made me a better person, it was my catalyst....anything is possible!

I just finished reading your book last night. Nicely done!
It must have been such a release to get the story down and a powerful experience to share it with others. Thank you. How are you doing these days? I have been great so far and feeling really positive about everything. My marker numbers keep dropping and I feel wonderful. It's amazing how big life challenges can give you such strength and give such a much need changed perspective on what matters. I'm so glad that you have a great man in you life to share things with as well. Thanks Lou, you're a gem! I hope you had a great summer and I look forward to hearing how you're doing.

wow you were so young to go threw all that! i read your story and i shouldn't complain about anything! i just hope as time goes on it gets easier, cause right now i still can't believe he is gone! and i think to its the way he died, cancer just ate him up! he was a strong retired policeman! but anyway it's so nice to meet you! and i love your pug! i want one so bad!!!

I read your story, WOW you have been through alot, I also read about your DAD i am so sorry for what you have been through keep your head up. I was just wondering though...about the whipple surgery, do you know much about it? The docotrs said that I will need this to remove an islet tumor from the neck of my pancreas and I am so scared of that sugery.
