About Me:
I like to listen. And write. And hang out with my beautiful nephew, Ethan.

I'm trying to figure out a variety of digestive issues at the moment. Waiting, waiting, waiting. In the meantime, I'm trying to switch from vegetarian to vegan, cut out gluten and soy, and alter my lifestyle in a way that will make me (and the planet) feel GOOD. Making progress slowly but surely. We are what we eat, I guess, and who wants to be corn syrup??

Hi there - sorry it took so long for me to respond. Things have been pretty hectic.

My sis lives off 111 I think. Down near the ice rink and all that. I dont know Exeter too well.

How are things going for you? Have you made the switch to vegan? It's so hard to do! I'm trying and it's been hard.

I hope all is well.

Oh, I forgot to say if dairy grosses you out (I totally understand I was vegan for years and until going gluten-free was off most dairy and on almond milk) then you could make your yogurt and then make it into smoothies, and easier way to get it down to start.

One of the best parts for me is that to buy good organic yogurt is $3 a quart and to make it myself (and better yogurt) is $1.50 a quart!

Hi Sara,

The yogurt I make is actually nearly the only dairy I eat and I look at it as medicine! I use 2 T. of plain active culture organic yogurt from the store, mixed with one capsule of probiotic (I've used the one you take, it's great) opened up and stirred well. So my starter is actually already powerful, then basically I am growing a super powerful probiotic yogurt!

i use organic cow's milk, 2 % and a yogurt maker I bought on Amazon for less than $20. It makes 1 quart at a time and it easy-peasy, once you get into your groove. If you think you are going to try it, ask me for more details and the recipe...I'm happy to share.

P.S. I like your motto!

Thanks so much, Sara! A site that I love, love, love would be good for you to check out at this point.

www.glutenfreegirl.blogspot.com

I know Shauna personally (we met through blogging) and she is one of the most authentic, joyful people ever! She shows you how to be gluten-free and still enjoy the sensuality of food.

I also make my own yogurt and the probiotics in there has done wonders towards healing my gut. I have better digestion, fewer allergies of all kinds and zero gas ;)

Fingers crossed on your digestive issues getting resolved through food~
