My onc said yes, kind of a lot (!!!) but it's normal to retain fluid from the steroids, and then chemo is a whole lot of fluids pumped in and the body isn't doing so well at pumping it out.
Between the chemo and the steroids, our poor old kidneys take a bit of a beating, hence the trouble in processing fluids. My bloodwork during chemo certainly showed a frightening trend in this direction (all better now). From my totally NOT expert point of view, it seems that current medical protocols don't do a great job of addressing this.
So this is where alternative medicine could be helpful. Personally, I would say that a real good acupuncturist who routinely deals with cancer patients could be a lifesaver in helping to get the water out, not to mention many other of the treatment side effects. In fact, believe it or not, many of the efficacies of acupuncture treatment for the side effects of cancer treatment have been well studied and documented in medical journals.
Best of luck to you and your husband, and many blessings.
Blessings.
Thanks for the friend invite! I appreciate the chance to chat with other caregivers - we need to support each other! Nobody can completely get it unless they are also in that role. I am glad you have started te Carers group. There is another group called Crazy Sexy Co-Survivors here which is very similar.
The picture of you and your hubby is so sweet - there is so much love between you. How lucky you both are!
Talk more soon.

I am a fellow NHL and wanted to send you a message of hope, love, and prayers. I will keep your husband and you in the thoughts and wish you smooth days ahead. You hang in there!
Thanks for the comment! I am glad you have found our community. You have asked about my protocol and you can find it w/ supporting documentation in the group "Alternative Treatments, what has worked for you". If you are on the main page, find the topic 'What has worked for you" and the doc's are about half way down. I hope this helps you.
Peace and Blessings,
Karen
