Thanks for checking in. I spent most of Saturday laying around and napping. They changed the doseage of my steroids again. I can't wait until I get to through that fun again next weeek. I have my car keys taken away and I'm being treated like I'm a third grader. It's very frustrating. and I'm not in the best of moods. I mean who did all of the grocery shopping until now? Me! It's like now because he has to help out I must be totally imcompassitated or something. Yikes, I ran into an isle of toilet paper, must not have good muscle control! I can't load the car on my own because things will shift and get squished. At my last count there was one loaf of smooshed bread that was caused more by a poor bagger than by my wreakles. Argh! There's a time when I would have welcomed the help now it's absolutely drivin me crazy. I don't think that being on the Prozac helps much either but this is just driving me crazy. It's just going to be an Ativan type of afternoon.

I'm doing great too. glad you get your cuddles with your dogs during your work day. Wouldn't that be a great motivational tool for all businesses? Scheduled cuddle breaks with your pets? I am trying to build up my stamina and muscles supports (which all left me while I was in the hospital) before I return to work in August. Enjoy your day!

That was another great game - every day there is a different "man"! My son plays travel baseball so this time of year my life is all about it, lol. Yes I did Rhoades 7 and 6...eight times last year and hopefully never again! I will be up there for scans on monday and appt on tuesday - Dr. Nasta is my primary up there - but you do get to see them all eventually! A celebration sounds like a fabulous idea and so well-deserved after the battle! My hair came back too...crazy at first, but now after nearly a year it is returning to its "old" ways, just with lots of curls :)

Hi Militia, I discovered Stand Up To Cancer web site a few weeks ago and made a donation in the form of a star for my aunt who died of breast cancer. It gave me tremendous encouragement that the scientists and docs on the site feel we are on the verge of finding a CURE for cancer! Hooray!!!! Everyone should check out the website and make a donation if possible. It's time we find a cure and we now have the technology to do it--just need the money!

Thanks for bringing this to the attention to all here!

I also was treated at HUP from March-September 07 and I am so thankful for those amazing docs! Hope you are doing well, stop by and say hello. xo Sherry

It's the middle fo the week and I have some exciitng news to share. I have officially work my way to the half-way point of the summer school experience. I have come down with a lovely head/chest cold (little buggers and their germs!) but otherwise the work has been very managable. Now I'm going to take some extra time every evening and work on arranging and organizing my room for the upcoming school year. I figure that a few extra minutes tacked onto these days would make the long haul less daunting down the road. I spent most of the weekend sleeping and laying around trying to give my body as much time to recoop as possible.. It worked well because I felt better for the day. I did take some OTC mucus remover and it interacted with at least one of my other drugs and boy howdy did I have a trippy afternoon. If I could narrow it down I could make a zillion dollars making anti-depression/anxiety meds for cancer patients. It was truly cosmic and then reality crashed back in. Oh well!

Going to my St. Louis onc. tomorrow for the usual round of tests, pokes and prods but this time my mama is my driver. Hubby has to work so I'll be dragging her around the hospital instead of him. I will get to meet up with a friend for dinner which will be nice and I get to do the whole Trader Joe's/Whole Foods activities that are my treats for behaving like a good patient. I'm off to write my standard list of questions for the appointment. I'll post the results when they are in.

Congrats on the medical front. I love the high from a great report. It makes each progressive lab a little easier to prepare for. Slowly the anxiety becomes less and less. I basically work for the government as well so I know all about lost paperwork, dry erase boards being hung in the room next to yours by accident. Coathooks for a coat room arriving in April (not much of a help at that point but at least they arrived!) and all of the paperwork. It has been an overwhelming week but hearing everyone's great doctor news keeps me humming along. I think that since June is Cancer Survivor's month karma is giving us all a little taste of peace and tranquility (which has been long over due). If you want a good laugh you need to check out the posting that I've been sending back and forth with Stephanie about how OCD has kicked into high gear at my house to keep the returning to work issues and stresses at bay. I make a plate of all my green juice ingredients and refrigerate the night before, I combine all of my fruits in one container and freeze and liquids in another container so that when I make my fruit smoothie I just have to pour the contents of the two containers into the blender and pulse away. I also have a four week supply of outfits hanging together by day of the week complete with jewelry and shoes so that getting ready in the morning is as painless and smooth as possible. I posted some of my OCD inspired pictures on my page if you want a good laugh at a crazy girl.
Congrats again! Have a great weekend. We're going to our cancer hospital's survivors and caregiver's carnival on Saturday. I'm hoping to go for a hot air balloon ride since I've never been before!

Oh I'm so glad. Jenny (sweetlife) and I both agree that concert-going is a MUST in healing. I like to attach the word "therapy" to the end of whatever it is that I want to do. I figure it makes the thing sound indispensible, and legit! So... you are having "concert therapy", "girlfriend fellowship therapy" etc. lol... it makes life so much more interesting when we start doing whatever it is that we want to do, instead of what we have to do. It even makes the "have tos" seem more enjoyable. Blessings on you. Glad you are well!!
